New Challenger: 3 Reasons Why Gaming Will Destroy Itself Part 1
8 hours 45 mins ago
Wii Fit is unlike any game we have seen before. With Nintendo pushing the industry to reach more casual gamers, we are witnessing a transition in the young life of video games. Gaming is expanding beyond the hardcore audience and Wii Fit is the poster child for this evolution - here's 5 reasons the industry will never be the same again...
Think of the last game you beat. Think of the sense of accomplishment and the satisfaction you got from playing it. Think of the way the controller felt in your hands; think of the gameplay, the storyline, the graphics, the music and everything that made it fun...and remember this well.
Because that is how you'll be telling your grandchildren about the "good ol' days of video games." Good. Old. Days. The times when gaming was golden. Back when it was an altar boy, pure and true. The times before Wii Fit.

They've always been trying to create "revolutionary" peripherals, but they usually end up collecting dust in the back of gamer's closets a few weeks later.
In the end, we just want to play good games. Not have gaming "revolutionized" by weird peripherals that have nothing to do with actual gaming. (Excersising is not a game - It's excersise!).
Welcome.
Well-written article, by the way!
Wii Fit seems popular on GG. They should make a catagroy on it if so many people are making comments and articles on this.
Grow a brain pls.
As much as Nintendo tries to make it look like they have the cheapest console, they're the ones ripping people off the most. Sure, the console is $250, but think about all the peripherals you need! Sure you can "get by" with just the Wiimote, but you will need to get 4 of them and the nunchuck accessories. Add in the fact that the Wiimote sucks for a lot of third party games and you'll probably want to get some classic or gamecube controllers.
I just bought my own Wii (well, my sister wanted one for graduation) and it cost me $500. I had to get the Wii, WiiPlay (for the second controller), a second nunchuck, SSB:B (just so I had a real game to play), two gamecube controllers, and a SD card so I could save shit. As much as the Wii claims to be cheap, it only cost me $100 less than my PS3 and that came with Component cables, two controllers, Motorstorm, and a 3 year extended warranty.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
