Ebayer sells his entire video game collection due to him getting married, but was it really his own idea or his wifes?

An eBay seller has just closed an auction that featured a massive collection of video games, systems, and accessories from over twenty years of gaming. Why? Because he's "going to marry this wonderful girl and could use the money". The auction featured hundreds of games and systems from the Atari 2600, Intellivision, and NES through the PS2 and GameCube. It even had such gaming wonders as the Virtual Boy, Atari Jaguar, and two Sega Dreamcast consoles. The auction began at a mere $100 and sold to the winning bidder for $3,600.

We can't help but wonder whose idea this was: his or hers. Giving up twenty years of nostalgia for one "wonderful girl" isn't something a guy in his right mind normally does. It could only be one thing: love. That, or a threat from the laser eyes of doom (pictured).

Can I just say, I've been gaming for 16 years+ and I don't see myself giving up my games collection for either love or money.

I would say that he should get a better job and the girl would have to deal with him gaming

If my girl doesn't like games then she can shove a wiimote up her ass. I'm never giving up my stuff for love, although maybe money.

I have only been gaming for nine years and I still wouldn't give my collection up for anything, not even $3,600. I wonder why he did it. There are more ways to get money. =/

Definitely a strange article. If it was for something like 10 grand I'd do it, but for $3600? I don't think so..

If your wife or husband is asking you to give up a hobby of 10 years I really question the give and take of the relationship. Unless of course the man was spending hours and hours a day and it was affecting his family life.

To be fair though $3600 is alot of money, and if your huge collection is justing sitting there collecting dust and you don't really play them much anymore than why not go for it?

Hmm yeah but the thing is did he stop playing because he wanted to or because of pressure from his wife? I think couples really need to respect each others hobbies and life styles.

Definitely agree with you there, if he had stopped playing because he wanted to then he got a sweet price for his collection.

Wow, this is so crazy. Why would he do that? First of all, it's not that much money for all the videogames. He's going to regret it. Maybe he'll buy end up buying a Wii when he becomes a father.^^

Yeah considering all the stuff he had I'd say cheated is a good word for it
