Critics love it. Fans adore it. This guy can't friggin' stand it. Which blockbuster video game is it? Take a guess and click through for the answer and the full mind-bending rant.

Is it GTA? Halo? Half-Life? Metal Gear Solid?

Everyone is familiar with this gaming phenomenon, and everyone seems to have nothing but praise for this apparently revolutionary shooter. It sells as if it had been forged by a limited supply of solid God and was guaranteed to provide full-body orgasms lasting hours. Master Chief has been carried up the Mount Olympus of gaming by the critical community on a palanquin of perfect 10s to stand alongside other legends like Mario, Link, and Sonic.

Halo, in my infuriated opinion, is the most overrated and undeserving game series of all time.

Wow, no one ever says Halo is over rated.

This guy obviously doesn't follow any of society's rules. I bet he even puts coloured clothes in with light clothes when he does his laundry.

Total free spirit, I tell ya.

He is a *bleep*ing renegade right there.

I mean, it's not like EVERYONE has already discussed this to hell and back and came to the conclusion about a year ago.

Halo is overrated but not the most overrated game ever.

To me it sounds like this guy hates the game just because he sucks at the multiplayer. More than half his rant was about the damn sniper rifle and how he thinks its overpowered. Yes, its the most effective weapon if your good with it. It sounds like he's complaining purely because he sucks with it while everyone else is good with it.

No, it's because the game is overrated. I'm probably better than you at Halo 3 and I can safely say it is overrated.

How is saying the sniper rifle is overpowered for half the article prove that Halo 3 is overrated? Plus, I don't think its overrated, it seems like everyone is saying that it's overrated, so how can it be if everyone agrees that its overrated? Maybe the hype for the game before it came out was overrated, but now that it's out, I don't see how anyone can still say that it is overrated.

And even if you are better than me, which I doubt, why would that change whether or not this game is overrated? You can enjoy the game the same amount whether you suck or not, it's just that the guy in the article seems to hate everything he's not good at Ex. The sniper rifle in Halo 3.

I hate people like you with your incoherent rants. I never said the sniper rifle made the game overrated? Why are you asking me to back up something somebody else said? That's stupid. The sniper is overpowered, but I don't think that alone makes the game overrated. What makes it overrated is a combination of alot of small things. It's not like I was saying it's the most overrated game of all time like he is, all I said was that it was overrated. Don't get hurt over somebody not liking your favorite game. You'll live through it.

You said that he hates the game only because he sucks at it. I am saying that I still think it is overrated even though I didn't suck at it. Understand now?

You said "No, it's because the game is overrated. I'm probably better than you at Halo 3 and I can safely say it is overrated." What does being good at the game have to do with thinking whether or not its overrated? You might enjoy the game more if your better at it or whatever, but that doesn't mean its not overrated. Overrated is when you believe the majority opinion is wrong, not when you, by yourself, think a game has is bad.

I'm not "hurt" over this guy not liking "my favorite game" either. I just believe that this guy is *bleep*ed for backing up the idea that Halo 3 is overrated by saying the sniper rifle is overpowered for half his article.

So you're *bleep*ed eh? You just asked me the same question twice, and I answered it the first time.

Again, YOU SAID HE THINKS ITS OVERRATED ONLY BECAUSE HE SUCKS AT IT. YOU SAID THIS. I just said I'm good at it and I still think it's over rated, but I repeat, YOU brought up the connection between skill at the game and not liking it. Why don't YOU explain what that has to do with it rather than ask ME to explain?

Ok, so let me get this straight. The majority of people have to agree with me that it is overrated for it to actually be overrated? Think about that for more than five seconds. Please. If the majority of people didn't think the game was THAT good then it wouldn't be overrated in the first place. The majority of people have to like a game and hype the hell out of it for it to be overrated. So by your logic just because the majority of people like Halo, it CAN'T be overrated? That's what being overrated is you dumb shit! It's when ALOT of people like a game despite it not being as good as people claim. Don't you understand this? What is wrong with you?

You're like agreeing with me and yet disagreeing with me at the same time here... Look, the guy obviously thought it was overrated mostly due to stupid things like the sniper rifle. I know that's not your opinion, its his. Why are you disagreeing with what I said and turning it around completely? You may have your different reasons for why you think the game is overrated, which you have yet to say, but you seem to be agreeing with this illogical article somehow.

And what I was getting at with the definition of something being overrated... If everyone thinks a game is overrated, it's no longer overrated is it? You alone have to think its overrated while everyone else thinks its the greatest thing ever. There's two parts to something being overrated, one part is everyone else liking it, the other is you hating it. Just because YOU hate it, doesn't mean its overrated. Everyone else has to love it for you to think its overrated. Understand what I'm saying now?

You're still being stupid. I'm not the only person who thinks it is overrated. I think it's a very generic and casual game that doesn't have much depth and it get's to be boring after a while. There, that's my reason, but everybody has their own opinion on why or why not it is an overrated game. This guy making this article and other people posting and agreeing that it is overrated are more examples of other people thinking it is overrated. There are tons of people who play other games all think Halo is overrated and they choose to play those other games. You honestly think I am the only person who thinks it is overrated? Where did I say I hated it by the way? That's called jumping to conclusions.

The point is, alot of people love this game, most of these people are casual gamers. Anybody who plays alot of FPS games besides this will all agree that this is not that great of a game. I'm not the only person who thinks this, and if you truly believe I am then that just goes to show that you only play this game and have no idea what else is out there and you can't accept the fact that not everybody loves Halo.

I can tell by your avatar that there will be no convinving you that this game is overrated. It is clear you are a Halo fanboy.

I think I misunderstood you from the beginning. When you disagreed with what I said, I assumed you agreed with the article. If you think that the game is overrated, that's fine, but if your reasoning is the same as the article then that's just silly. And yea I'm a Halo fanboy, but that doesn't mean I don't play other games as well. Call of Duty 4, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2, Battlefield, GTA 4, etc. I play them all. But the only one that really intrigues me to keep playing is Halo. Other shooting games like CoD4 and Rainbow Six can get boring after a while. In Halo, you actually engage people in battles. Your weapon vs his, your skills vs his. In games like Call of Duty 4 though, whenever you kill someone they usually didn't even know you were there. The only reason they would is if they either had Juggernaut or if you missed like 3 times in a row. Otherwise, they get killed in one hit and its over, which is just boring to me.

Halo is the only game where you can really utilize team strategy. One person can't just put a shot into everyone on the other team once and expect to kill them like they can in Call of Duty and Rainbow Six. That's why I enjoy Halo more than anything else.

Whether or not you agree is your opinion. I don't mind someone saying they don't like Halo 3 or that it's overrated. As long as they don't come up with some of the stupidest reasons like this guy did.

By the way, I actually changed my avatar a few days ago. Refresh the page if you want to see it.

Well that's why Halo is an inferior game to all the other ones. Because you can run around like a jackass and not worry about dying. Other games like COD and RB6 actually require some sort of patience and accuracy, if you miss somebody then they spot you, you are dead. In halo most battles are people spraying their guns into each other and then meleeing because of the whole shield system you can't just kill somebody with one good shot because they weren't paying attention. Unless of course you have a power weapon.

          Fury Jun 15, 08
Just because you like other games more doesn't mean Halo is "inferior". Everyone has their own opinion. I'd rather have a game where it actually takes some work and skill to kill someone rather than only having to put one shot into them with any weapon. If you'd rather have it the other way around, then that's fine, but that doesn't make the other game "inferior", it just makes it different.

Well I guess if you think two people running at each other shooting wildly then meleeing is skill then I disagree entirely. The sniper is much easier to use than in most other games as well, I really don't see any aspect of Halo that takes more skill than other games. Maybe that's why you are dying alot in other games eh?

I don't think any game where you can start with any weapon you want requires much strategy. In Halo, you have to work as a team to control the weapons. You can't just aim anywhere and expect a kill, if your not aiming at the head, you'll lose. Some people just run around with the assault rifle, shooting wildly and meleeing like you said, but those people obviously don't get very far up in the ranks.

In CoD4, you spawn with any weapon you want, stay at your spawn, and start taking them down in one hit. Well, that's how I play it anyways, and its easy as hell honestly. I didn't even go prestige just so I could keep my Barrett and do the same routine over and over. The only maps I'm not able to do that on are Vacant, Shipment, and Wetwork. There's been several games, the majority being on Bog, where I started out with the Barrett, never moved from my spawn, and never ended up dieing. The Barrett has like 50 bullets, the ability to kill in one hit as long as your aiming at the upper body, and it comes with a Ghillie suit (on most maps). All I ever have to do is crouch/lay down inside a bush and pick off the enemy like flies. It takes a little skill, but no strategy at all.
