In response to the recent article "How Bethesda Butchered Fallout 3," here's another look at how the gameplay changes fundamentally affect Fallout 3's status as a true sequel.

Fallout 3 is downright misleading. How so? Spin Offs have occured: see Fallout Tactics, (but do not see Fallout Brotherhood of Steel). If any of those games were called Fallout 3, god help me, we would not have to have this debate. This game is no different. Besides mythology there is no similiarity. My envisioning of Fallout 3 is that it should have the same isometric view, but take advantage of all that fancy smancy technology of now - I am talking about blood stains that stay forever, the car that we've always wanted with car dents that remain forever, physics like GTA IV -a horizon that never dissapears, a weather system, your player ages, the spirit of Fallout was in DETAIL, and with today's technology we should be thinking PHYSICS not Halo style; the Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 isometric view and turn-based system will be lost.

Will people just stop *bleep*ing complaining. It'll be a good game, that's all that matters. I haven't even heard of the original Fallout games before I heard of Fallout 3, so I'm not really bummed about any of this.

Exactly: the fallout series is a bit old, it's like complaining of using a mouse for games that used to be text only

Its like saying MGS:4 is shit because the original was 2d.

Not quite, because the MGS series is actually a spinoff from the original Metal Gear games. Still, I honestly can't see the reasoning behind all of these complaints. Really, it's like people complaining that FFII isn't a sequel to FFI.
