Sunday Special: Female Gamers

VeGiTAX2 | August 10, 2008 | Blog | PC Playstation 3
Lydia from Neoseeker.com explores a new avenue in the Sunday Special this week, taking on the myth of the female gamer and unraveling the many spectacles brought up by the internet these days about what one might expect when asked for information on them. Handy images, lists and more are all inside to provide full coverage of the topic.
To be fair, the male portion of the gaming population is diverse, as I've come to learn. To some of them, it really doesn't matter that we don't have the same reproductive organs, but I have never once encountered or even heard of gamers who act like gentlemen around the fairer sex while duking it out with their controllers and keyboards. One might argue that true equality dictates against such kinder, favorable treatement (e.g., going easy on someone because she's a girl or woman), but then how do you justify the complete opposite behavior on that equality spectrum -- the sort of behavior that's driven most female gamers to keep their mouths shut or spam the mute option.
