What constitutes the purchase of a full-price game?

RKRigney | September 25, 2008 | Blog | Misc
A user-submitted article written for SlapStic.com goes in depth on the topic of what makes a game worth its $60 price tag. All games are NOT created equal, so what passes for a complete gaming experience in the modern gaming era? This is discussed here.
I don't just go out and buy any video game that has guns or boobs in it. I have a filter, like an online server list. I mentally sort out the good, the bad, and the ugly before buying anything. I can't afford to buy every average shooter that comes out. In order to warrant a purchase, a game must be, for the lack of a better word, "great." As a consumer, there are a number of things that I look for when spending my hard-earned cash on a full-price game, and without these things, I tend to assume that a game is just average.

Ya I'm not super-excited by a game just because it has guns or boobs in it.

But if it has guns AND boobs in it, sign me up.

Well Games are getting expensive to make, so the price of games will increase naturally. As long as I have fun playing a video game, which is my main goal, then its worth the money.

Very few games are worth the full price tag, imo. At least in Australia. I'm not willing to pay $100+ for a game, when I can just spend $50 and buy it off ebay. At least then I won't feel so guilty if I don't enjoy the game. XP
