Gems: Perfect Dark

gamingverdict | October 02, 2008 | Blog | Nintendo 64 Game Boy Color Misc
Oh Joanna....GV looks back at this fondly remembered title from the N64 backlog. Do nostalgic memories of this games distort reality? GV looks back and tells all.
They say that, in life, you always remember your first love. Could it be that this extends to videogames as well? It’s definitely true that I can never feel as much of an affinity with a game, or a studio, as I did with this FPS masterclass. Nigh on a week of playing time was put into this sci-fi conspiracy adventure; a feat unheard of to my adolescent casual gamer self, and possibly the beginning of the end for me. I just don’t think I’ll ever get over Rare.

I remember setting up matches with the bots that I'd keep on for multiple days. It was such an incredibly fun game. I should buy it again.

In fact I think I might tomorrow.

I think Turok 2 and BioShock are up there with it, personally. As an overall package I'd say PD is easily the most extensive, complete, and satisfying though.

Oh, man easy with that. Turok 2 *was* awesome. I bought it 3 weeks ago.

It didn't age well. I'm still playing it though
