An article detailing how Microsoft is capitalizing on the developer struggles with the PS3, to acquire more developers for the Xbox 360. It also discusses Microsoft's plans to further establish the Xbox brand with the recent price cuts and third-party acquisitions.
Games like Final Fantasy XIII and Tekken 6 once dead-on exclusives to the PlayStation brand have jumped shipped thanks to Namco and Square-Enix finding a second abode with Microsoft. And as it was stated in the article about the Xbox 360 saving the PS3 from decimating developers, the multiple platforms has afforded both Namco and Square-Enix a comfortable alternative for making back their hard-earned bucks...

At the end of the day, I'm just worried that a game such as Final Fantasy would essentially be created on the XBOX360 in the future and then ported to the PS3 rather than what they're doing now on FFXIII which is creating it on PS3 and then porting that to the XBOX360.
Just remember that size on a disc is a big limitation, and unless developers are ready go to multiple disks for each game, the game wont reach it's full potential.
Just how I feel...
I think companies blow too many resources on porting when they could make a really outstanding game geared towards one system and make a killing if done right. I just want some incredible games for the system I spent hundreds of dollars on....doesn't matter if it's a 360, PS3, or Wii......we all want the best games we can get on our systems.
Love the line "PS3 is decimating devs". Idiocy there, at its finest.
The PS3 has just as much right to beat the competition as any one of the consoles.
I remember it was the same way with games coming/going from the Xbox to the PS2, or vice versa. This time, though, the PS3 is filling the shoes of the Xbox and the Xbox 360 has become the PS2.
What I say they need to do, is have each version of the game, different from the other, taking each console's strengths and features into consideration. That will also make people who own multiple consoles, to buy more than just one copy of the game, because they'll want to experience the DIFFERENT things in the games. . . More money for the devs!
So, devs, don't be lazy, and you'll make so much more money than if you make a game the same across the board, limited by the weakest platform you build it on.
For example the Wii, sure it has 32 million console sales, but hardly has any games that justify purchasing the console for. Not to mention is ripping off consumers.
