Editorial: Chances of the PS3 Dominating In 2010 Looks Slim

vortis | October 14, 2008 | Blog | Playstation 3 Gaming Tech/Hardware
The article covers analysts and their trends to say how the PS3 will dominate, and lays down some facts regarding why it may be difficult for the PlayStation 3 to dominate in 2010.
The numbers have shown over the past few months, shifting units should be a very important thing for Sony. Whether you want to argue price point, game selection, or consumer interest, Sony would probably prefer that the PS3 aims to outsell its PS2 at some point in monthly sales, during this console race.

I don't trust analysists because they always grasp gloom and doom type things, never the good things. But yeah, in any case I personally don't care one way or another. So long as the console is supported and doesn't become obsolete and no longer used, I'm going to enjoy it. I don't take part in the console war so therefore will enjoy living my life using my PS3, 360, Wii, PSP, and of course PC (though not for gaming )

The article starts off with some erroneous info anyway. The PS3 is not being outsold every month by every currently produced console. The PS3 outsold the 360 almost every month this year. It is this little fact that the editor happens to over look that leads many analysts to believe the PS3 could catch up by 2010. Additionally the PS2 hasn't outsold either the PS3 or 360 for the last 6 months. If you're going to write an editorial at least use up to date info.

Yea, except I do use my PC for gaming.

That's what I keep wondering: why anal-ysts keep overlooking that key fact. Furthermore, when the 360 does sell more, anal-ysts are all talking about why PS3 needs to catch up, when in reality the PS3 is actually doing very very well.

Its not like many care what Analyst's say anyway. Usually its just a hypothetical guess given by past numbers and trends. Hardly anything to take as factual.

      But you know this already.

Yeah, "Wii has horrible graphics compared to 360 and PS3" isnt a good enough excuse to put things down.Talk tthe people, because PS3 fans will be themselves, 360 fans will bethemselves and Wii Fans will be themselves.

It's not going to be any better or worse than it is now. Just find work and keep your job as long as you can. The one thing you can do to help the economy is spend money.
