Call of Duty Black Ops Voted ‘Best Game Ending’ Of All Time

An article about the state of Sony's gaming division, and the ramifications their losses might incur. The article suggests that the PS3 could be the last console outing for Sony if things don't turn around.
Things havent been going over too well in the Sony camp since the launch of the PS3. While it sold faster than the PS2 in comparison to its launch, the PS3 has been a financial pain in Sonys side for the past two years. The added state of the rest of the economy have finally culminated in Sony seeing 10% of their market share value drop rapidly. So what does this mean for the PS3?

Though I don't see that being possible for the PS2 games.
I don't think this is Sony's last console, if it is, then the gaming world would be shit, and so would 360 games without the competition Sony brings.
Final Blade, you are exactly right. If there wasn't any competition then Microsoft would rip people off left and right. And xbox shelves would be full of shovelware.
Xbox wouldn't be the same with out Sony being there.
It's William Usher for christ sake.
I believe it's one of the biggest PS3/Sony-haters.
Please stop posting his articles here on GameGrep, cause it's nothing but pathetic spam based on personal biased emotions without any argument that's related to facts, simply mis-interpreted or just mixed up.
Most Asian electronics-manufacturers will go through a though time, and the writer conclusions doesn't make any sense in that context. Nintendo didn't give up, MS didn't give up and Sony won't give up either.
So next time you want to link to an article, check the writers name. If it states William Usher, pls just skip it.
Ok, just wanted to share that with my fellow readers
PS3 hater article or not, he does have a point. The PS3 isn't doing super well at the moment with it losing a lot of ground to Microsoft when compared to the last gen. The economic down turn sure as hell isn't helping boost sales of their expensive console either. And now, Sony has lost a lot of exclusives too. I still wouldn't say they are down and out though, they can easily turn it around with a bit more work with hanging onto exclusives and trying to make things a better deal for the consumers. If they can't turn it around though, I think it might be in their best interests to drop out of the next generation. A couple of years letting Nintendo and Microsoft run the show could be bad, but it might give Sony a chance to reorganize and refocus making the generation afterwards something truly awesome. That's just my thoughts.
Just because one anal-yst says a bad thing, doesn't mean he can't be wrong about a few things. You gotta remember, PS3's been outselling 360 for a while now, even though they're behind with total units. We've got plenty of 1st and 2nd party titles on the way.
Yes, PS3 WAS doing bad. 2 years ago.
Here's a few articles [due to limits of gamegrep] where Microsoft and Nintendo get some backlash by Usher as well:

If gamers have to wade through the amount of shovelware of first party titles to find the great ones, and not for Sony, wouldn't that contradict your statement saying Nintendo makes better first party titles?
Sorry why wade through those titles to find good first party titles, when you can find automatic first party titles that is awesome on PS3?
A company that has more consistent hit first party titles = having THE best first party games. Fact.
I really can't see why you are having difficulty with this idea.
Then again you seem to think that Sony have made a shit load more first party titles than Nintendo, so you were, quite clearly, born with an extra chromosome.
Final Fantasy isnt one of them.
NIntendo does make the best first party titles.
Mario, Link, Pokemon, Kirby, Fire emblem, Earthbound Starfox, Everthing you can think of.
Guys, we can't speak for the future. Let's jjust keep quiet until The 8 gen comes out.
Anti-Fanboyism isnt going ton help this.
And I Wouldnt be surprised if Sony went outta the game race.
Microsoft and Nintendo arent that bad anyway.
PS3 isn't flying off the shelves as much as the other consoles, but you know what, History is repeating itself. The PS2 was the same way. Sony seems to make consoles and such for the LONGRUN and not immediate popularity. That is why each console they have made, pretty much introduced media and such for games, that the other consoles took on later because it became the norm. It's like Sony always tries to get ahead of things.
I doubt they'd get out of the gaming though, because like everyone said, competition (or lack of it) affects the industry. Without a PS4/5/6, etc. then unless something else takes it's place, the industry could very well go to ruins.
I'm honestly not saying this to rip on you, but here's a tip; when you read a comment, stop, count to 10, then go back and re-read it. You might say less stupid things then.
I betcha wii probably couldve don better if they kept the name revoluton.
Because it causes Ignorant teenagers to say it sucks.
I cant wait till HD wii comes out.
Almost 360 graphics, A harddrive....
Ill eat my own ass when you can string together a plausible and understandable sentence.
Also you've been labeling and accusing me of stuff I never said at all. So clearly you're just some ninty fanboy trying to stir things up.
I think you better start cause shockingly he has been able to string together a understandable sentence here:
Which leads me to believe he posts like that on purpose.
Its not a good ane rally
Also, Sony has been making money on the PS3 as of late. In their Q2 2008 fiscal report (July-September months), their Games and Pictures (movies) segments were the only ones to show any financial gain. The PS3 and PSP were both paying off, while the PS2 saw a decline.
The only reasoning behind the PS3 being Sony's last console should probably be based on their overall performance as a corporation, because no matter how well the PS3 does, it isn't enough to support a company of Sony's magnitude.
BTW

Totally gonna spam that article whenever I smell a fanboy fight.
My point was only that the PS3 isn't the failure some people seem to think it is. The only reason I could see for discontinuing PlayStation right now is an effort to cut costs... but seeing as how their Games segment is one of TWO to show promise these past few months, that seems unlikely.
