Is the game industry becoming as bad as the music industry?

herdon | November 11, 2008 | Blog | Company Misc
The game industry is rebelling against the idea of used games and game rentals, but even the music industry hasn't gone so far as to lament about used CD sales. Hollywood isn't waging a war against Netflix, and authors aren't up in arms about libraries handing out free versions of their books. So what's up?
When you put out utter crap, you can't gripe that people are selling it back to GameStop. And when you create a pretty good game that only has 15 hours of gameplay and no replay value, you can't gripe that people are saying, "Hey, dude, it's pretty good, but just rent it because you are only going to be playing it for a couple of days."

That's true, and it's only going to increase the rate of people stealing media to tenfold.

Wait I don't understand the title? If the "music industry hasn't gone so far as to lament about used CD sales" and Movies with netflix, how is the game industry becoming as bad as the music industry?

Anyway I do not support getting rid of netflix for movies or used game(and rentals) and used music thing. If developers would make better quality games, people would be incline to buy them then instead save money and rent them.
