SlapStic - THE BEST GAME EVAR: A Rant On Fanboys

RKRigney | November 15, 2008 | Blog | Misc
SlapStic contributor James King goes on a rant about the trend of rampant fanboyism for console gaming. He's tired of hearing how every new game that comes out gets hyped up like it will be the greatest thing ever. Do you agree? Read after the jump!
Consoles have done an amazing job of building up armies of diehard, loyal fanboys. Even after getting crippling red rings of death, overpriced hardware, and no games on release, gamers still clutch their controllers to their bosoms as if they were their children. They'll also happily drone on and on about why X game is awesome and better than many others, going so far as to attack the control schemes of other systems (I’m thinking PC's here). Much like a mother goose defending her young, they will honk angrily if someone attacks their game and system of choice, and some will go so far as to charge that person down, wings flapping in a furious flurry of feathers.

What he's talking about really isn't Fanboys, its about people getting carried away with the hype.

Do not really see how fanboyism fits into this; he mentions many titles which are multiplatform and their hype...
