Blend Games writes an article that speculates the mild sales of LittleBigPlanet to the overwhelming success of the LBP Beta. And that many gamers didn't buy the game because they already played the beta.

Sony seemed to put enough interest into the game to promote it as the next mascot-based title for the PlayStation brand. However, things didn't seem to look quite as grand when the NPD results were released, and LittleBigPlanet looked more like a single-A title rather than a triple-A system seller.

    What a load...

That was more a subtle swipe at Sony than anything else...

    I call shenanigans!
all my friends and i were in the beta, we loved it and bought the game, i don't even think LBP is doing that bad.
For a new IP its actually doing very good.

If you played the beta, you won't be saying "That was so good, I won't be getting the game!" seeing as the beta ended and became unplayable, thusly forcing you to buy it if you wanted to continue playing. Also, sales are actually getting good, seeing as the last article only based its assumptions off of 4 days of sales...

This article is full of FAIL.

I've heard that LBP is selling fairly well, if not as well as they had hoped it would. I personally think that LBP will get a kick in sales once the x-mas shopping starts for real, since it's a game that anyone could enjoy, meaning families will probably pick it over more hardcore games.

I'M NOT BUYING THIS GAME PURELY ON ACCOUNT OF THE AMOUNT OF ANNOYANCE THAT HAS BEEN MADE TO ME BY PEOPLE PULLING LAME JOKES FROM THE NAME.

Who really gives a shit if it flops in sales or not.

If people are enjoying the game, then that's what counts.

Sony do. I agree with you about your second point, but it does matter for Sony. They're going to be in deep shit if it does flop.

But it hasn't been a huge flop.

What we need to know is the production costs, if the sale revenue overcomes that then it isn't a flop at all.

If it's a flop then there's little hope for a sequel.

So yes, we give a shit.

I actually had so many lag and connection problems with the beta, that I stopped playing after a while. The same goes for my friends, but we all got the game.

Most of the comments on the site sum up my view pretty well, it was only 25 000 Beta keys, almost all impressions were positive, and all this is based on less than a week's sales.

I don't care if people keep writing about how bad LBP is, I just wish they'd stop making puns out of it. Seriously.

Well I thoroughly enjoyed the Beta. I thoroughly enjoy the game too (just wish I had more time for it)!

These articles hating on LBP . . . sure are numerous. It seems that if LBP were so BAD like they claim . . . there wouldn't need to be so many articles supposedly "proving" or showing it because it would be obvious and show itself. Instead. . . it seems to prove itself otherwise.

I was in the beta, I didn't get the game... the only thing that matters was that whether I was in the beta or not, I was never interested in this to have even gotten it. If anything the beta made me want to get it slightly, but I still probably wont....

Aw, sorry it's not your type of game, Krunal! I know for those who do like the game, there's a big replay value. But, I know what you mean

This has to be the dumbest thing I ever heard. How is it the beta's fault for the sales? Beta's are like demo's where you can play the game or in this case test them to find bugs, and its only small fragments on what the full game is going to have. That's like saying Resistance 2, Killzone 2 and every other beta screwed up the sales of the full game.
