Edge-Online has blogger about thoughts towards if Monster Hunter 3 will be a big success in Japan, or a Godzilla of failures. What's for certain is that the preview at TGS‭ ‬2008 created a line hours long just to see it.

So will it reap popularity? Edge-Online reckons "it may just have a chance".

Few non-believers will be swayed by the basics of Monster Hunter 3. This is a straight series installment that concentrates on the core experience while playing around with some of the Wii hardware's possibilities. Most notably, it's quite beautiful. Capcom may have leaped to the forefront of Wii development if the long draw distances and lighting are anything to go by, despite the company's insistence that the demo featured incomplete visuals.

Its only let us down by not releasing a game out of Japan. This is asking if it will do well in Japan, which there is no doubt of. When your demo booth has 200 consoles running 50 sets of 4 players on their own consoles and you still have a 4 hour waiting line that goes out of the building, you have a successful showcasing event, as well as a highly anticipated title.

Well...I really don't see how it's ever going to fail in Japan. Japan just LOVES Monster Hunter, proven by how the PSP sales ROARED with the MH:F games AND it's Nintendo, quite possibly a match made in heaven as far as they're concerned.

Yeah, I thought the question was a joke. Judging by the sales of the PSP MH games, and the number of Wiis in Japan, I have a feeling the Japanese gamers are going to lap it up.
