An editorial about the importance of user-creation tools in console video games, and how LittleBigPlanet could directly affect how the gaming industry responds to including more user-content in games.

The arguments between Xbox 360 and PS3 fanboys are usually centered on games exclusive to one console or another. Each faction gets a thrill out of seeing the other console's exclusives tank in reviews or sales. LittleBigPlanet has been sneered at for less-than-stellar sales but for the sake of gaming, even Xbox 360 owners should hope the game rakes in a lot of money for Sony this holiday season.

I don't really get all these 'LittleBigPlanet sold poorly' stuff.

I've seen various sources just today saying that it's sold over 1 million copies.

Maybe they expected it to sell more?

But I agree, its doing pretty well so far in my opinion. By far one of the best selling PS3 titles for sure.

The article makes a very good point. The 360 can only hope LittleBigPlannet sells well, because then, like they always do, they can 'buy' the physics/building tools software and sell more for themselves. It only makes sense.

It had a slow start, but now I've seen it pop up on different top-sales listings. Maybe people just needed to get to try it at their friends house (or something) to get hooked? Also, it's a perfect x-mas present IMO.
