Jack DeVries of ign.com has decided to reflect upon the evil side of Pokemon. Yes they never succeed, but is such a thing possible for what is largely aimed towards children?

There have been some pretty cool evil Pokemon organisations through the years, so read on to check them out!

I know a bit about crime because I grew up on the streets. And by "streets" I mean a cul de sac in the suburbs. And by "on" I mean safely indoors because I was not allowed to go outside by myself until I was 19 years old (why do you think I played so much Pokemon?)

So with all the evil teams hellbent on stirring up trouble in the Pokemon universe, the antagonists begin to run together. Which one got all of its members beaten by a child? Oh right, that would be all of them. And while that fact alone is enough to make all of these teams completely inept and useless, a few of them did have some interesting ideas, or at least manage to do some evil things before being disgraced.

Many of the teams have had some stupid ideas, but Team Aqua is the best. =p

Has anyone ever lost a battle to a grunt before when they were actually trying to win?

It's possible to lose to a grunt?

Good old Team Rocket ftw! I've never lost to a grunt, I'd be a loser among all people of the world.

i hate to be one of them guys over-glorifying the 'golden days' of the franchise, but team rocket was the coolest one by a long shot.

I personally feel a pull to Team Magma. Magma is just epicly powerful sounding, their colour scheme is red+black and they have hoodies.

Honestly it's going to be hard to top this. The next team is going to have to burn babies to power a giant machine that emits pure suffering or force people to listen to the Pokemon 2B.A. Master soundtrack for all eternity.
Holy shit, I actually have that soundtrack in the draw right on front of me...
I think I got for christmas one, I would've had to have been 5 or 6 years old when I got it.

Don't feel bad Capn Droin, I also like Team Aqua and Magma. It was pretty cool how on Sapphire, Aqua was the villain and Magma was the good guys, and on Ruby, it was vice-versa.

Especially if you own Ruby and Sapphire like I do, made for a fun replay value so-to-speak.

I'll admit, that was impressive. Too bad they rid of that dual-team idea in the 4th generation. :L

I'm glad they didn't re use the dual team idea, it kept Ruby and Sapphire's teams unique.

Also, both of the teams being evil in Emerald was awesome.

    I love those bad guys
Even though they are pretty dumb. But just look at their hair, every team has awesome hair...

Team Galatic, while awesome in their plot have absolutely atrocious clothing, even for a Japan kid orientated title.

        Team Magma hoodies = win

Team Snagem had the best haircuts of the all.

Also, IGN forgot Cipher, the other team in Pokemon Colluseum and Pokemon XD.
