Many believe the PS3 has yet to show it's true power, but is that really the case? Ben Dutka, of psxextreme.com, believes that the PS3 will reveal it's true potential next year, and here's why ...

Those of you who remember the early days of the PS2 will remember the ongoing joke amongst those who didn't like the console. It went something like, "oh yeah, where's all that 'hidden power'?" They said this because Sony promised the system was capable of a lot more than the launch titles presented, and obviously, the likes of God of War II, Final Fantasy XII and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater can't really be compared to the likes of Summoner, Tekken Tag Tournament and TimeSplitters. It's like comparing two different platforms, really, which essentially verified Sony's claims. However, most just remember that old joke, and were quick to apply it to the PlayStation 3. Of course, PlayStation consoles are notoriously difficult to develop for initially, so the jokes endure but typically, Sony has the last laugh.

It'll happen one day...I hope...
In all seriousness, it's not Sony's fault that developers aren't using the PS3's technology to it's full potential.
I know that no one's directly said that it's Sony's fault on here, but I think that's what a lot of people think, and it's just not true. That's not to say that Sony isn't at fault for any screw-ups.
At the same time, a game using all of the PS3's available resources doesn't directly equate to the games being great, so this really doesn't mean much.
Like Uncharted 2 is being hyped to use all of the PS3's "power", and everyone seems to think it's going to be so great because of that, which is, IMO, a bit foolish. I think it's more dependent on how developers use the hardware.
Of course it can help, though....
No real opinions on the matter myself, but that's hilarious.
/thumbs up
Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, God of War 3....etc will continue the cycle.
OMG how can I forget Uncharted, White Knight and WarDevil..
Damn those games also showed PS3 power.

We've seen it already.
Honestly I just don't know why theres so much trash talk about the PS3 (not just here but everywhere).
Granted they aren't as succesfull as the Wii or as reliable as the 360(and I use the term reliable very loosely) But it still is doing a good if not great job.
A diamond in the rough if you ask me.
Lol.
it may have not been him, but I know someone did.
I put the picture here for the people around Neo who actually act like this see it (you all know who you are, k).
I like both the 360 and the PS3 a lot, personally.
[/sarcasm] (for the simple-minded)
Anyway, KZ2, MGS4 and Uncharted 2 are just perfect examples of the fact that the true potential is already here. Why we'd have to wait until 2009 for that is beyond me...
