CVG's Rich Stanton sounds off on BioShock's plot, explaining why he has a love/hate relationship with the game as a result of it. Just be warned, it may spoil your enjoyment of the game (and the plot itself if you happened to have not played it through yet).

A man chooses. A slave obeys. I love BioShock, I hate BioShock. It's the game that threatened to burst open our understanding of just what could be achieved through a synthesis of ideas and interactions. And it kind of did. And it kind of ruined itself by doing so.

Wow. I couldn't disagree more. The second half of the game was great as well. Not as good, but still great. And the Ryan cutscene is past the halfway point of the game. Way past. It's pretty much right before the end of the game.

I agree that it's a great twist and everything, but I disagree that it's too much for a game.

Then again, maybe it's just because I'm a Bioshock fanboy.

    I completely disagree.

The latter half of Bioshock makes for some of the best gameplay, IMO. For the sake of spoilers I won't go into detail...but let's just say it's cool to be on an even playing field..

What...? That was some of the dumbest shit i've read in around 2-3 months!

And the Ryan cutscene is around 3/4 into the game, not 1/2.

I heard this game was pretty good, but how hard is this game compared to Oblivion and Fallout 3?

Never played either but its easy as crap. Turn off the vita chambers and quest arrow options if you play so its actually somewhat challenging.
