New Challenger: 3 Reasons Why Gaming Will Destroy Itself Part 1
10 hours 9 mins ago
I don't own either game in the franchise, but from I've heard Gears of War and its sequel both had large amounts of problems with their online modes, and Saul Berenbaum has had enough. He recounts his own experiences with laggers, glitchers and just down right cheaters and wants it to stop. As he quite welly sums up "For the love of God, men, you should be in control here, not 12-year-olds and quarter-assed wannabe hackers"
Six months ago, I posted an article called "Mr. Bleszinski, Hear My Plea." The article was a detailing of then-recent events I had dealt with on Gears of War's ranked multiplayer modes. I wrote about glitchers, douchebags and spoiled brats playing the game and ruining it for everyone else. I talked about the players' "absurd level of freedom," as in their ability to cheat and get away with it without being penalized.
Well, Gears of War 2 has been out for almost two months now, and not much has changed.

Its pathetic regarding the lack of support Epic games has had with concern to its online infastructure, and Microsoft need to be pulling their heads in, and ensuring its stable and fun for ALL gamers, not just the Americans...they are experiencing some problems themselves though also I think.
I've never had the opportunity to play these games, but they seem like a fun online experience. I'm definitely not a fan of online issues though, too many bad memories with unstable MMO servers.
Lol @ "stood up to that punk". You mean jumping him?
Standby is done primarily in two fashions:
1) Pushing the "Standby" button your modem.
2) Unplugging your Ethernet cord out of your modem.
However, some more intelligent people find easier ways of doing this, one being UDP Packet Flooding (My favorite).
I guess some modems have a standby button.
Anyways, if Epic would patch up the problems in Gears 2, I would play the game online more often.
@The Omega - meh, still doesn't negate the fact he was a Red Sox player and his name is worse.
Weird.
It's not like Epic Games aren't working on the game though...this is a waste of a letter.
