You’re not alone if you feel a touch spoilt by the sheer mass of compelling software that has been released over the past two years. Mario Galaxy, GTA IV, Call of Duty 4, Halo 3 and the Orange Box are but a handful of fantastic titles that peppered the 2007 and 2008 release lists. Can 2009 repeat the same feat?

We start with the Wii, a console recently suffering from an identity crisis following Nintendo’s E3 no-show. Blistering sales figures aside, 2008 was a weak year for the console’s software catalogue.
