OXCGN looks at the various moves made lately and the slip of Edios on the share market which could help move Time Warner closer to acquiring Edios ahead of Square Enix, who recently teamed with French publisher Ubisoft.
So many acquisitions happening of late, it's difficult to keep a track on who is buying who and who belongs to who. Most studios probably don't even know who their bosses are lately. What affect will this have on the industry as a whole if move Film based studios grab up the gaming development studios?
So many developers are losing ground over the last year and it seems even extremely large ones like Eidos are not immune either, especially after recent loses.
At a recent investment conference Time Warner showed interest in the Gaming market. When reported at Gamasutra it was interesting to note that it could herald a bid by Time Warner for the failing Edios Development studios, especially given recent job losses and financial difficulties.

I hope eidos doesn't cave in.
Placing them in the perfect position for an acquizition bid. Time Warner do have a decent enough name, and they do have several major animated films and the like behind them, so they at least know the difference between film and interactive games.
Which is where most film studios fail when it comes to video game adaptations of movies. The process is completely different, but they treat them very similar, with most of the effort being focused on the movie, as they 'generally' believe the game is easier than the movie process.
Which it isn't.
