Henry Gilbert of gamesradar.com takes a shot at typing up a study of the ever changing face of Mario since creation. Nearly three decades certainly gives way for a lot of changes!

It's a frequently cited fact that Mario is more recognized worldwide than Mickey Mouse (whoever that is), meaning everyone everywhere should know what he looks like, even if his official look has matured over the years.

But in his near three decades of existing, not every official or officially licensed representation of the mild-mannered jumping guy has stuck with the program. History is rife with Mario drawings that are off, laughably bad or just plain wrong. Take our trip down memory lane to see the Mario you're supposed to forget.

Haha very funny stuff. Especially liked the part about the unintentional reveal of Mario's prior baldness - just Sonic fans looking for a fight, haha. Excellent stuff as usual.

I think it's safe to say they won't change him. He's been the way he is now since Super Mario 64, around 12 years ago.

I agree with Big A2. Sadly. I wish they would change him up again. It's always interesting to see the way video game characters mature over time (not that I was around when he was created).

Ah, they'll probably give him a cybertronic arm in the next Super Mario game. That way he really will be SUPER!

But in all seriousness, yeah, I think Nintendo is satisfied with his current look.
