Sony are doing quite well this generation, though not as well as competitors Microsoft, nor that of the Playstation 2. So what should Sony do to help booster sales and connect their two platforms: Playstation 3 and the Playstation Portable better? Well one solution is to have trophies available on both platforms...

Trophies for the Playstation 3 has been incredibly successful, and has helped them to a small extent gain some ground on Microsoft's XBOX360. However, I don't believe that games a lone will help Sony become the market leader like they did with the PS2.

I dunno, 'games alone' seems to have done the 360 well, as well as the PS2. PSP connectivity would be cool, but unless there are enough games on each platform, it's kinda pointless.

The PS3's media capabilities are nearly spot-on, except for custom music. So really their focus NOW should be getting some good exclusive stuff and more advertisement.

However, commendable effort on the article.

In game voice chat? No the PS3 doesn't do that, the 360 has that patented.

Really? I'm surprised you can patent such an idea.

Still, gg Microsoft, restricting your competitors may not be best for the industry however purely from a MS stand-point it's an excellent idea.

    PSP Trophies.

Didn't cross game chat gain bad reception from critics?

It's pretty sweet, you can keep talking to your party no matter what your doing. Single Player, Multiplayer, same match different teams, or whatever.

It's my one and only grip with PSN really. Oh and Little Big Planet lags like shit.

Cross Game Chat isn't that useful unless you prefer talking with your buddies to actually talking to people in the game you're playing. You know, for strategy and shit like that. I've used cross game chat a few times but only when I'm playing single player in a game.

Chat with friends, or chat with strangers you'll never see/hear of again?

          Tough choice, that one.

Considering it's part of the game, I'd agree. I can talk to my friends ANY TIME. When you're playing a game (assuming you're actually taking it seriously), it's beneficial to talk to your teammates.

          Yeah, real tough choice.

You take gaming way too seriously if you'd rather strategise with strangers than chat with your mates.

It's not Metal Gear Online 4, it's just Metal Gear Online (although it is the second game of the series).

It's very fun to play. Just don't choose matchmaking, I learned the hard way that it'd take forever. I'm reminded of SOCOM online, I don't know if you've ever played that.
