It seems as though people view the Wii as strictly hit or miss. According to Nometet, the Wii game developers need to start utilizing the Wii's technology like it has been doing with its sports games. Wii Sports, according to the site, is the only game that maximizes the Wii's technological potential.

So, what of the Wii for the future? At Nometet.com we hope that game developers will wise up to what’s good about the Wii, and make a game where you can wave your Wiimote about and make your own moves, where you can use the balance board to shift the centre of gravity of your character, leading to a sweet game not unlike Mirror’s Edge only a lot more advanced. We predict said game will arrive at the same time as the nuclear apolocalypse. Or when people stop worrying about Sarah Palin. The apolocalypse will probably come first.

That would be cool if they made a game where you actually get to create a character, play games, and you can use the balance board so it knows your weight and you can like walk around by actually walking on the wii balance board. Maybe in a couple years...

Is it me or does marching in place to move a character sound incredibly dumb?

A couple of years ago, I would have said standing around with a plastic guitar sounded incredibly dumb, and we all see where that has taken us now.

IMO the less movement games require, the better.
(which is probably why I'm not much of a fan of Guitar Hero or excessive Wiimote waggling)

Ok... yeah, it is dumb, I guess... Maybe they'll make a mat though sort of like DDR, but better. Well, in the future, they're definitely gonna have greater technology.

I think there was once an idea, or a joke, to use a DDR pad to control movement for first person slasher game. I think it was like a rail shooter and you'd dodge or step back/forward with the different pad buttons.

Wii balance board could be used for that more effectively for dodging alone, use the nunchuck for movement so its not a rail shooter type.

So some developer should make like a sweet game where you can use the balance board to shift your characters center of gravity and wave your arms around to make your own moves that is similar to Mirrors Edge but way better.

    noted...

On a separate note someone should like make a time machine where you could go back in time. Like in Back to the Future. Except for without the Biff dude. He was a jerk.

Why just the Wii? Why not add the 260 and PS3? Granted, the Wii probably gets the worst of it, but still, every console has it's fanboys.

It's probably just me, but I've alwayws found the Wii funner when you've got a friend against. It just doesn't appeal to me if you're playing on your own.

Its not just you i pretty much only play wii when a few of my friends get together to play wii.

The wii does have some addicting party games.

The author forgot to mention games that worked well with the balance board...aside from wii fit and wii ski i cant think of anyother games that use the balance board. How about a tony hawk games that uses it?
