An incident in the same league of the ET videogames being dumped in desert has come to the attention of a common poster on the European Nintendo Forum. When searching the many shelves of a local GAME store he noticed the area normally containing the shop's small collection of Gamecube games was filled with Wii titles. When the customer asked at the desk what had happened to them, the employee they threw them out. Perhaps those who still possess the console should look into taking them off their hands?

While recently taking a gander at what my local GAME had to offer, I noticed that there were Wii games where they usually kept their (realtively small amount of) Gamecube games. This surpised me, so when I made my purchase I questioned the man behind the counter and he told me that in the past month they had only sold three gamecube games, that's three, not thirteen, or thirty, three, and that it was no longer worth selling them. When asked what they did with the games they didn't sell, he told me that they threw them away. Threw them away!

Yeah but if they don't sell, it doesn't do them any good to hold onto dead stock. Throwing them away? I wouldn't go that route, there's always a way to get SOME money back.

That's interesting, I was recently trying to sell my Gamecube with the GBA adapter to GAME (and EB Games for that matter) but they didn't accept it. It was explained to me by the owner of EB Game that, unlike Sony and the PS1/2, Nintendo has no desire to get their earlier consoles off the market. Perhaps this might partly be why. If they keep the older consoles out there, namely the Gamecube then maybe it'll help clear out any "dead" Gamecube stock and make more room for the Wii. Like it needs it though.

Man, there's a whole bunch on NGC games I want, but there's only one shop in my town that still sells them, and that's just two shelves filled with multiple copies of Sonic Adventure 2.

Go to Cex, they sell GC games and generally cheap. I noticed Game hasn't being stocking them for a while.

maybe if Gamestop and GAME stop buying gamecube games for $2 and sellings for $30, they could move their merchandise.
