I haven't seen Sony say there wouldn't be a price drop. I have seen them say it won;t be very much. I think everyone already knows there will be one this year. The only question is how much and when?

I'd imagine it'd just be by about $50. And personally I doubt that'll really make a huge difference; people wouldn't buy it at $399, they won't be much more motivated to do so at $359.

I'd be motivated if I had $370 saved up for a PS3, but couldn't afford it, but with the price drop, I'd have enough.

        What about $349? Because $399 minus $50 is $349

You know, he does produce a good point. It just seems like his ideas are a tad undeveloped.

Every single time I come back to GameGrep from being away from it a bit, one of the first news articles I see is yet another one forecasting a soon in coming decrease in the cost of buying a PS3.

Eh . . . I honestly still doubt there will be a price drop in the PS3. Not anytime soon. I don't know why, but I just do . . .

What do you consider "soon"? Is within the next 12 months to soon for you?

Umm . . . well guess I consider soon to be within the year I guess. But thinking further about it . . . MAYBE they will have one for Christmas. But I still think of that as maybe only a 30-something per cent chance of happening. Don't know why, it just seems that way.

I expect perhaps a small one this year, or a larger one early next year.

    Just a matter of when.

really i still think the ps3 does not have the edge over the xbox 360.Especially in terms of games and online play. And untill the ps3 gets to the xbox level to me it does not matter how many price cuts their are i will not be wasting my money on one.

Lol, That doesn't mean other people don't want to buy the PS3.

And you are perfectly entitled to your opinion there. Yet to millions of other people, they like the PS3 and it's games enough to buy one. And nearly all consider it a good use of their money and not a waste.

Thanks JRY for that insightful look at nonsense.

He doesn't think the PS3's worth the price it is, not when there's a better console available for less.

      How is that nonsense?

He's saying the PS3's games and online suck balls and have to outdo the 360's games in every way to be worth his cash. And what's more states he won't buy one even at a single dollar until it does.

        Sounds like nonsense to me.

"He's saying the PS3's games and online suck balls and have to outdo the 360's games in every way to be worth his cash."

No he didn't. He says Xbox 360 games are better, a far from uncommon view and a far from ridiculous view.

"And what's more states he won't buy one even at a single dollar until it does."

Obvious hyperbole. I'm sure there would be a point where he would buy one.

Actually Hun it is a ridiculus comment. Completely unnecessary opinion that adds nothing to the conversation. We're talking about when and how much a price cut the PS3 will get. Not which console you think is better.

The PS3 has plenty of good games. What is good and how much though is all a matter of opinion. We could throw all kinds of statistics out there to prove the PS3 is keeping up with the 360 and so on and so forth. But really when it comes to this choice it is all opinion. And adds nothing to the topic at hand. The comment came out of left feild completely pointless.

I was more thinking of the fact that just because it can't beat the 360 mentality it sucks. Lets say for an instant that the 360 became god like, it got tons of new exclusives which kicked arse and its online got even better and even free. Now lets imagine the PS3 does the same only not quite so well, with a few less kickass exclusives and not quite as good online. It almost matches the 360, but according to JRYDER101 it is still completly worthless.

          Thats where I'm coming from.

This will occur, it is a matter of time. It's just how the industry is. Eventually, all consoles will be $200.

God I want a PS3 price drop, I can afford it as it is but I'd like to have money left over afterwards!
