An article that covers the topic of biased game coverage for the sake of marketing and profits. The author writes about games receiving more positive remarks from writers (before reviews) to keep their jobs and make money.

The topic of gaming publication bias is all the rage right now. From one forum board or comment section to the next, it’s easy to point out gamers claiming that a site is biased against a particular console/game all because nice things weren’t said in a review, or the author reported on news findings that rendered unfavorable results. But is this really true?

    Saying Halo fans aren't biased is like saying the grass isn't green...

      It isn't. The grass is brown. The chlorophyll inside the grass is green.

        Which is a part of the grass itself.

        So what aren't your blood cells part of you?

    I think a lot of the reason for reviews wanting to preview Halo wars is because is a different game to the normal halo series seeing as its an RTS.

    Killzone 2 is just the same fps as last time(not saying its not going to be a good game just saying its an fps still, so calm down)
    Whereas reviews are curious about Halo wars, seeing as its built from the ground up they want to see how it will work out, see if they did it right.

    I wouldn't say there is reviewer bias towards halo wars though, its got some average scores too.

    Loads of people are bias though, it can happen with any game or any console. I mean all the PS3 fanboys are just like "(enter website here) IS BIAS, THEY ARE UP MS ASS CUZ THEY GET PAID LULZ, GAYLO IS OVERATED CRAP. IT GOT NOFIN ON RESISTANCE 2 OR KILLZOEN WOOT" and stuff, then Halo fanboys are like "HALO IS BEST GAME EVASR LULZ"

      Regardless of the fact that it's Halo as an RTS, the fact remains is that it is still just an RTS, just like the other RTSs on consoles. Making an RTS based on Halo doesn't automatically make it innovative.

        He didn't say it was innovative, he said it was different from what the public expect of Halo so people want to see whether they did it right as an RTS or not.

    I do tend to lean towards the PS3 now. Halo 3 seems to be a litle overrated now. Don't get me wrong, it is still a good game.

      Please, tell me why you don't like the 360 in as much detail as possible.

        He didn't say he didn't like the 360, he said he's leaning towards the PS3. Can you not read?

    @Blaze
    It's loud. No built in WiFif card has made me reroute my cable modem to support online features(and I will not pay $100 for the USB card, just to give it a feature the PS3 has for free). I had to fork out an extra $40 so I can stop buying batteries for the controller, making it effectively the same as a PS3 controller(They actually have the audacity to put two energizer AAs in the box?! Garh!!!). I have run into a ton of software glitches and game breaking issues on games touted as the greatest(Fable II I am looking at you). I say this as an owner who has had good times with his XBOX, but I also hate the fact that the bickering between the console makers has spilled into the community of gamers. Screams of fanboy can be heard on every post, whether criticism was intelligently backed or not. Exclusive XBOX owners often appear to me to be the most idiotic, defending their systems lack of features like its a good thing. When I heard them defend the lack of wireless capability on the XBOX as a great thing, I was hoping they were all sterilized at youth to keep the idiocy from propagating. Defend it based on cost savings, but don't tell me its better because you have to have an ethernet plugged in. Does that answer your question Blaze?
