Still haven't decided whether you want to play Resident Evil 5 solo or co-op? Stephen Totilo of multiplayerblog.mtv.com has compared the two options. Go to the source for the full article.

I played “Resident Evil 5”halfway through with a friend, then all the way through on my own. The experiences made for two radically different games.

Last week, I started playing a review build of Resident Evil 5 with ex-Newsweek reporter N’Gai Croal. Over three sessions, we played through the first half of the game.

And then, in the middle of this week, the retail copy arrived and I started over. I played through the game by myself, finishing yesterday just 90 minutes before I posted my RE5 review.

To those unsure of which way to play, I recommend what I hear is the unpopular choice: play the game solo.

I have only 1 issue, playing this game solo and that is......Sheva.

I don't want no dumb ai ruining the experience for me.

I'll play alone, but if my friends come along, I'll be more than happy to have them play along.

From what i heard on x play (please dont flame me i actully do rely on their reviews to a certain degree) i heard that the ai is really kinda broken and just difficult to play without co op..I want to play this one but it will probably be a while before i can

from what I've heard from EVERYWHERE, people all over are complaining that the co-op is so in your face.

Unlike games like gears of war, they constantly say sheva is annoying, wastefull and downright *bleep* (lol if you've seen the youtube vids)

I havn't played the game yet, but I'm becoming very discouraged.....good thing I have friends!

There's the problem that in Co-op, you might have to keep up with someone who's finished the game and is just there to try and get secrets. Or they're just so into their own strategies that if you don't do it their way, they would quit, others would try to speedrun the whole thing, etc. There's a lot of issues with the online co-op as well, and it would make sense to recommend Solo mode, mostly because you're going through the game at your own pace.

And I speak from experience with Resident Evil: Outbreak, sometimes your best ally can be your worst pain in the ass.

And to add on top of what Seeker said, I played solo my first play through, and personally for me I've had very little problems with Sheva's AI. If anything, she's actually been more helpful than Co-Op players.

I'll definitely agree that, so far in the game, she's been more helpful to me than harmful.

But that's not to say that I don't curse her name every time she does screw up.

I ended up buying the game today, the demo was just too fun with my girlfriend. I don't like the online co-op part but I felt that I had to throw the $60 for this title just so I could have one more game to play with my girlfriend. After we beat it I'll probably go ahead and play through it with the A.I. Sheva.
