    Why are we fanboys?

So we can have something to b!tch about to the nonbelievers.
Thats right, fanboyism is a religion, and if you don't see our ways, then you must die

An article which tries to be funny, but fails miserably. I was hoping for an psychological evalution about people defending their purchases when I read the title.

If you want a psychological evaluation I can give it to you in a short form. Here we go:

It's got a lot to do with the subconscious desire to belong and be special. Fanboys are fanboys because whether they realize it or not, it has a lot to do with the simple fact that they desire to be part of a clique. A group of people who even though they don't know each other, and even disagree lots of times, they are still part of a family of people who agree with this thing: this product is superior.

I'm not saying that's the only reason, or that everyone is controlled by their subconscious desires and so forth. But I AM saying that the majority if they start thinking about it . . . they'll realize that "Hey . . . that's right. There's really no logical reason for being a fanboy. It just makes me feel like I belong, to be part of a group of people like this. I'm special, not just an average joe."

Everyone wants to belong or be special, subconsciously. Some go against it and have control over it, others give in and let it control them (sometimes aware of it, other times unaware).

None of them come up with a proper answer either.
