Electronic Theatre breifly discussing the audience Resident Evil 5 vies for - can it be everything to both Hardcore and Casual Gamers? Probably not, but there's plenty of other Resident Evil's out there...

Resident Evil 5 undoubtedly pursues this more action-orientated audience, whilst trying to appease the long time fans. It does an admirable job of pleasing both parties, though the replay potential for those so inclined may be more limited than previous outings. But then, those previous outings on less capable machines were designed for gamers, and this “casual” audience may have found themselves stopping short of completion within games that intently work against the player. Pleasing both groups of Resident Evil fans was an inevitably difficult task, and in Electronic Theatre’s opinion, Capcom have moved in the right direction for mass market appeal – an ideal which videogames have been striving to achieve for many years now.

Either way, I didn't like the demo. Controls were clunky, and I just couldn't enjoy it.
