This article analyses the possibilities of the Gran Turismo series venturing into the PC gaming realm, in the light of the rapid growth in PC gaming technology.

Back in April of 2008, rumors spread that Gran Turismo 5: Prologue might have been made for the PC, at least for the Korean market. We are now ending the first quarter of 2009, and there is no PC version, so you can guess the results of those rumors.

Nonetheless, with the exponential growth in technology, wouldn’t it actually be possible to port upcoming Gran Turismo titles to the PC platform?

I would love it! It's a natural fit in a lot of ways...but I suppose they have no interest as it wouldn't run on anything but high-end PCs, which doesn't count for too many people..

Well it sold okay enough..though not enough to keep Crytek from working on consoles. And it pissed off most people.

Erm, the game is made by a company owned by Sony itself, so...

And? I guess we should ignore Halo 1 and 2 and Gears of War, all of them are Xbox/Xbox 360 exclusives yet they made their way to PC. Sony have a massive pressence in PC gaming, pretty much every big online game of the last 10 years has been made by Sony other than World of Warcraft, Gran Turismo 5 could go to PC if they wanted it there.

Yes, but Microsoft has a computer software branch, hence why they have most of their Xbox games go to PC. Sony on the other hand, works in primarily digital entertainment and other such things rather than computers.

I say, GT5 shouldn't be on the PC. The computer used should need a high RAM card to keep the game runnin' smoothly, and more actual updated drivers/visual memory cards and such to prevent running problems.

Besides, Polyphony has already spent this much time on GT5 for PS3 alone. If they made it for PC, not only could it take ages, but it would need a near-ground-up build, as the PS3's architecture is nothing like PC.

It actually wouldn't need that much ram, probs 2 gigs to run smoothly.
its only a racing game. Most of it would just be handled by the processor and G card, the G card wouldn't be a problem at all and the processor would be fine too, depends on how many cores it uses and even if it used all 6 there are 8 cores out there.
