Yahoo.com takes a quick look back at some bizarre circumstances the Pokemon series has caused. From the infamous Pokemon episode that gave 700+ people seizures in Japan to the deadly Burger King Pokeball, one thing the series certainly has a lock on is controversy.
Self-proclaimed psychic Uri Gellar built his reputation on his supposed ability to bend spoons with the power of his mind. When Nintendo introduced Kadabra, a psychic-type Pokemon that carries a bent spoon, he sued for $100 million over claims that the game had stolen his identity. Gellar lost. It seems that when something gets so popular someone has to come along and say that it possesses children. I'm sure if Kirby was as popular as Pokemon people would be banning it from their countries.
The Sunday School one made me laugh though, especially the Jesus part.
You can always expect some sort of controversy for a popular franchise.
It's not like the halves of the ball could creat any sort of suction, and get stuck on you. If you look at how they're made, you can tell that it would be nearly impossible for such a thing to happen, because they're not perfect halves of a sphere.
You would literally have to jam the thing into your face and hold it there until you suffocated, and even that seems impossible to me. I'd think you would just pass out, thereby releasing the toy from your face, long before you actually died.
The child must have had some other health problems in order to die like that.
I thought it was Alakazam that Gellar didn't like?
I think you lose all credibility when you say something is racist, and then give a prejudice reason behind your comment.

How about that? Racism explaining the racism over racism about racists being racist.
Such a ridiculous thing to sue about.
I've heard of most those ones but they still make me laugh
