Bethesda has been screwing up a lot lately that isn't up for debate. All these mistakes have been causing gamers to vow not to purchase another Bethesda product again. This article is a closer look at that option and how stupid these gamers are for boycotting one of the best developers around.

The point that is being made here is that gamers need Bethesda more than Bethesda needs gamers. You can boycott them all you want, their games are still going to sell.

I'm not fully up to date on this issue, but it sounds like many gamers (whether spoiled or not from Elder Scrolls) had complaints about Fallout 3. That automatically means that Bethesda has been screwing up a lot lately? Sounds a little harsh to me. Also, what has been deemed as "mistakes" are only labeled as such, because they didn't fall in line with what was expected. Now, while I do see the significance in catering to what your audience wants, at the same time, it's just a fact that a lot of people out here are never satisfied, and dislike something for what it's not, rather than appreciate what it is.

Actually a lot of the mistakes with the DLC were really bad. Especially The Pitt DLC which was broken and then fixed and then the fixed version corrupted save files and all that, fun really. Sure it shouldn't be enough to tarnish a reputation but i think I'd be pissed if i paid $10 for a download that wiped my save file.

The PC version of the DLC worked fine. *halo*

Whaa whaa, blah blah. Tbh, this is a minor thing. People are just disappointed with Bethesda, people talking about boycotting are few in number and their threats are empty anyway.

    Mountains out of molehills.

The funny thing is, this isn't new. I remember with the first elder scrolls games in the 90s people complaining about bugs etc... the thing is, Bethsoft games are so ambitious, some things are bound to slip in. At least in the PC space, Bethesda is known for releasing regular patches to fix issues in the game, and the games are built for the community to take them to the next level, add new features missions and additional content through their stellar mod tools.

IMHO - bethesda games are made for the pc, period.

A few problems and people start condemning Bethesda?

Jeez, don't be so fickle people, its not like they didn't fix the problems.

Everyone is human, and humans make mistake.

Note: Though I would have been pissed if the Pitt had got rid of my file, but not enough to hate the developer, that's just way to drastic.

This is why little kids shouldn't play big boy games. Beth Soft haven't been "screwing up a lot" at all, let alone lately.

Wow so the latest DLC for Fallout 3 was released with a few glitches on the PC and was broken on the 360...they pulled it, fixed it...so why are people still complaining? Well that's simple...because today's society is full of brats

Beth Soft aren't bothered if this "angry mob" doesn't purchase another game because of something silly, they still have a major fanbase across all games and the fact they have announced more DLC for Oblivion and the fact that THEIR 7 YEAR OLD GAME ELDER SCROLLS III: MORROWIND IS STILL BEING PURCHASED AND BOUGHT as well as Oblivion being majorly played even after 3 years...I think it's safe to say that the annoying little runts crying over a small DLC problem won't be missed.

If we really want to get technical...the only things Beth Soft have done that are flaws, is recycling Fallout 2's storyline for Fallout 3 (and the initial, piss off Fallout fans for making the franchise into a 3D action RPG) and released a broken DLC that THEY FIXED

Really so according to you it is ok to release content that we pay for completely broken. It does not matter if you fix it a few days later, if you shell out money for a game that game should work when you buy it, not 2 days after. I dig bethesda and will continue to buy their games but will also be waiting a few weeks before buying any of their DLC.

When did I say that I condoned releasing broken content?

Please re-read what I said and understand that I am ranting at the crying and whining little runts AFTER the DLC was fixed. Yes it would annoy me to find out I paid for something that was broken but knowing Beth Soft like I do (and they proven it already) they will do the right thing and get onto the problem quickly, fix it and release it as fast as possible to keep people happy.

Now if they left it for weeks on end and ignored their fanbase then yes I would be bitching alongside the rest of them but to actually say "I will not play another Bethesda game again because they released broken DLC" is complete idiocy beyond belief to the point that the person should be ravaged by wild animals and slowly tortured to death while they have the option to end their own life quickly via suicide but when they try it, it fails and they are left to the slow and painful death that they created themselves purely because of a stupid comment

GOD DAMNIT I HATE TODAY'S SOCIETY!

I never "turned", I just never expressed my hatred publicly until now. I have always hated society and not just in the gaming industry. True, my rants have become more long winded like Ben's but then again we're both english and were born to rant

i think we all should of been pissed at Bethesda if they didn't fix the Pitt right away, or if fallout 3 was completely broken and no patch was issued. I can understand how a lot of gamers were upset when the Pitt launched with its problems, but this is why myself and my friends wait and checkout message boards before we get ANY DLC. there is always some type of issue but they are usually fixed rather quickly. And for anyone that did not like Operation A then you do not like the fallout story. O:A is amazing DLC not only for the game play but for the battle we have been hearing about since fallout 1. just my opinion.

This time with new reading material not borrowed from previous TES games. The old books are great, but time for some new stuff.

The Pitt boondoggle was pretty weak, but definitely isn't just cause to never buy a Bethesda game again. That's just dumb nerd-rage.
