How great would it be if SMB4 would come out for the Wii? Would it be enough to save the declining sales? Or is it too little too late? Resume play wants to know what you think!

Listening back over the podcast last week got me thinking, Is the Wii a fad? To be honest, I think that it is and this worries me.

Actually, that would be VERY genius on Nintendo's part to make this happen.

A Super Mario Brothers game for the Wii? Uh, yeah, that would be just totally awesome. If anything will give Nintendo a little boost, it will be a Super Mario Brothers game. It's not too late =D

I was thinking HELL YEAH until I read "for the Wii".I would buy it for the DS but I wouldn't go out and buy a Wii for the game. But even on DS I would only buy it if it was a side scroller (preferably 2D).

that would rock, but i thought New Super Mario Bros sort of was SMB4. i would actually rather see a NSMB2 on Wii (or DS) than SMB4, or at least i want SMB4 to have the same new power ups that NSMB had like the Mega Mushroom, and to use 3D models on a 2D side scroller like NSMB was. that was awesome.

Well look what they did with the new Mega Man. They used the same old graphics, just a new game. WHy not make a SMB4 with old NES/SNES graphics or something? I'd so buy that!

why do that? not everything has to be made all retro looking. i personally thought it was dumb of Capcom to make MM9 old school sprite like that. i would have preferred MM8 or at least 7 style. keep the same gameplay from the old games, thats ok with me.

Do you mean to say SMW is SMB4? Because not everyone believes that. They're different series IMO (and many others' opinions).

Exactly. On the NES you had SMB, SMB2, and SMB3. There isn't any 4. It jumped right to SMW, SM64, etc. then all the spin-offs too. I'd like a SMB4 with the old graphics. The whole 3D thing is fun, but its also fun playing an old-style 2D graphic game.

Take away the "Super Mario World", and replace "Super Mario Bros 4." there in your mind. No-one would know the different. A game doesn't have to be called SUPER MARIO BROS 4 in order to be the 4th in the series.

That's what I mean by, to me, they are two different series. The SMB series, and the SMW series.

SMW =/= SMB4. it was quite a bit different. they are different Mario series.

why else is Yoshi's Island considered SMW2? if it were in the SMB series it would be called "Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Bros 5".

You wouldn't just replace GTA: Vice City with GTAIV: Vice City would you? Oh wait, there is already a GTAIV...its not even related to the original Vice City. How odd...

Super Mario World is completely related to the Super Mario Bros. series. It has Mario and Luigi rescuing Peach.

Forget it. I was wrong to oppose this internet. Sorry internet.

No, don't forget it. You weren't wrong to oppose anything because you weren't opposing anything. You presented your thoughts on something. You just have to remember that not everyone thinks the same way about something like this.

Don't get so frustrated over that! It's just like I know SMB2 is called SMB2 but I don't see why or how because of how very different it is from the series!

          @A2
ok so i guess that means Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Mario Strikers Charged, and Paper Mario games are in the SMB series also because they all have Mario, Luigi and Peach. yeah....makes lots of sense huh?

who's the arrogant one? Who the hell cares about the numbering? The fact of the matter is that people would like to see another game like it. >_>

A little late? Are you not aware that Megaman 9 recently came out? The shit is never too late.

Personally though, I really wouldn't want this. Megaman 9 was awesome because Megaman games have been awful lately. Mario doesn't need a re-boot. I'd rather see another New Super Mario bros. or *gasp* a new IP.

I'm sure you could call Super Mario World, Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2, or New Super Mario Bros the "Super Mario 4".

Besides, the Wii already has got it's Super Mario. Let's not ask for too much here.

no, i wouldnt. the Land games came out a hella long time ago on Gameboy back around the SMB1 days. sure its a platformer with Mario, and a lot like SMB, but that doesnt make it in the same series, cause it isnt.

only NSMB is in the same series. thats the only one that can even be close to be considered as SMB4.

I agree with Big A2 - as sson as I saw the title I thought, "Well, NEW Super Mario Bros. IS Super Mario Bros. 4...".

It should be 2D sidescrolling. That would be so boss.

A console 3-D mario game would rock. New Super Mario Bros. Style
