Breaking News - Capcom haven't announced another Resident Evil remake

In a shocking move, Capcom have not announced a new remake of Resident Evil 1. Is this an ill omen for the company? Can they afford to stop milking a cash cow in this current economic turmoil? Capcom employees and analysts voice their feelings and fears in this inside look.

With no announcement today of another Resident Evil remake, employees at Capcom have been doing some serious soul searching. Our inside source at Capcom HQ had the following to say, ‘Daily there are rumours abound that we won’t be remaking Resident Evil soon. Some of the higher-ups are saying that this situation may persist for some time. This radical move has left many fearing for their jobs and the overall new direction the company may be taking.

    Remake of a remake that came out on the console that can be played on the new console. If Santa Monica studios had milked the GoW franchise by making remakes with small improvements on the PS3, I am pretty sure we wouldn't be as accepting. I wonder why people are so accepting of the overused franchise remakes on the same damn systems.

        Well I'll believe that, to actually port a 3 year old game (RE4) on the "next gen" system and still sell like a mother*bleep*er and NOT get called out on it? Real miracle... Either that or the standards are not so high.

          If you're referring to the Wii, that was never "next gen"..
          Nintendo console owners never had access to it any other way, so it makes sense it would sell.

          I'm sure they did with the Gamecube, and last I heard, the Wii had playback features for the GC as well.

    Well they have Resident Evil: Archives, the REmake and Zero games in 1 package, for the Wii. Thats remake enough, and its an instant buy!
