AAG Feature: Why Sony & Microsoft should merge to make the PLAYBOX

In this article we look at the current state of the console race and look at factors why Sony and Microsoft should merge for when the next generation of consoles is due to be released.

For Microsoft and Sony, Nintendo is and isn’t seen as their direct competition. Nintendo have created a unique gaming platform that has appealed to the more casual gamer and to families in general.

    Let Sony make the hardware, MS make the firmware and structure, and Nintendo make the games.

        Sony makes the console, Microsoft develops the software,internet and nintendo can make SOME games.
        But only a couple.

        And bring back the old Nintendo seal. No shovelware on the cool console.

      How about Nintendo does nothing? I don't need to spend probably 500 quid on a console just to play mostly Childrens games.

        That's why I got rid of my wii in the first place. The only mature game I had was Resi-Evil 4.


        Sony should make the console, Micro should make the games, and Nintendo can sit in the corner remembering the good old days when they didn't suck.

      "PSWii" sounds like a serious medical condition.

      I agree with stefan1888. Keep the competition going so Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are always trying to out-do the others. Capitalism FTW.

    how about they all make there own consoles, directly compete and as a result the price will fall and the quality will rise in favour of the consumer.

    Lmao... Sony and Microsoft have two of the top game systems in the world (if not the top two).

    Why would they merge and make less money?

    Besides, Sony sucks anyway.

    I say forget making one console. Keep making their separate consoles with unique features and such.

    BUT! Let each console play each other's games as well as their own! That way you can have the option to get the console you like for their cool features and such, and yet you can play have all the games at your disposal!

    This keeps the competition, and yet still has the fun for us gamers!
