After testing Microsoft for so long, the day has finally come, for Square Enix, to fully embrace the Xbox 360 console, once and for all. Make no mistake, gamers are about to be blown away with the Square Enix announcements that are inevitable to occur this year.

Gamers need to realize that when Final Fantasy XIII was announced, last year, as a multiplatform title, the subliminal message that was sent by Microsoft due to that announcement was quite clear. Regardless of whether or not gamers would actually admit it, the undeniable fact remains that such an announcement is destined to create a paradigm shift in the way people view Microsoft forever.

If you pay close attention to the Square-Microsoft relationship and its progression, you would begin to notice a pattern materializing before your very eyes. The pattern is more like water testing. Let me explain,...

If Kingdom hearts 3 really does become a 360 exclusive, then the gods of gaming will have answered my prayers .

The chance of KH3 being a 360 exculsive is about as likely as hiphopgamershow.com being taken seriously

Haha, that doesn't mean SHIT nowadays, they could easily find some way to turn it into a timed exclusive, they do with most of their rpgs nowadays.

I highly doubt it considering that message was added to the trailer after the FFXIII announcement and after all the interviews in which Nomura quite clearly stated that Final Fantasy Versus XIII will remain a PS3 exclusive.

Just like Resident Evil 4, Viewtiful Joe, and Killer 7 were to remain Gamecube exclusives?

Good point, MusiKon, but I think FFvXIII is going to be different. RE4 and VJ were just ported over after the fact because of their success. Nomura is specifically going into development with the mindset that he wants to keep this version of XIII PS3-exclusive, like the rest of the series has been until now.

FFXIII was originally "PS3 only"... and look what happened there.

Nomura might want FFvsXIII to be PS3 exclusive, but in the end it's up to the company. And if making the game multiplatform would be more profitable for them, then they'd do it, regardless of what Nomura would prefer.

          MusiKon May 15, 09
@ Fallen Royalty: Shinji Mikami wanted to keep RE4 exclusively on the Gamecube, but Capcom wanted more sales and ended up putting it on the PS2 later down the line.

Just because Nomura is developing the game specifically for the PS3 doesn't mean it will stay there.

To sum it up, unless the game is a first party title, console exclusivity is a joke.

My point is that why would Square go through all the trouble of confirmed the game as a worldwide PS3 exclusive, just to spit in PS3 fans faces later on?

If we're not going to take the company's word for it in this case, then why are we listening to any company in general? Are they all just lying to us too?

Why would square go to the trouble of extending their fanbase over both consoles just to shut half of them out when FFvXIII comes out?
        • 0
Tiger of Wu May 15, 09
That's not shutting them out though, since 360 people knew from the beginning versus wasn't coming for them (or at least were told anyway). If it was said to be multiplat but then came to PSexclusive it would be shutting them out but since they've said from the start it's exclusive they aren't shutting anyone out, whereas if they made it multiplat they'd be pissing off the fanboys. Regardless and more to the point, who the hell cares about versus these days anyway? xD

I would 3: I'd hate to be given the oppotunity to play XIII but be told i can't play the next (of sorts) one because i can't afford more then one console ): who cares about what console fanboys think, they still get the game don't they? Anyone who wants a game to stay on just thier console for the sake of it is a tool.

Tiger of Wu May 15, 09
True, but you have to remember that fanboys in general are tools anyway. As far as I'm aware FFV13 has nothing to do with FF13 anyway, or is just another story within the same canon but with totally different gameplay or some bull like that.

Ah well, just the way it works really; at least the main one's multiplat. If FFV13 is anything it's just for the sake of throwing Sony a bone so they don't get pissy about losing FF13, which was meant to be exclusive when it was first announced or something. I doubt it's anything too special.

I think Square does support MS, but not as much as this guy is stating will. I believe that the extent of their support is only founded on the fact that they believe that the 360 will give them stronger NA and Euro sales, and nothing more.

In a mutual benefit for this, MS sees Square as a way to bolster their JP sales.

    This is from the hiphopgamershow.com

People are taking this seriously, why?

I tell you what, when Square embrace Microsoft and fob everyone else off I'll break my ribcage and suck my own dick; their main concern is money. Making timed exclusives with the occasional mediocre exclusive thrown in for good measure is the best way for them to make the most. If they went all out Microsoft they would lose more then they would make. Common *bleep*ing sense.

It's a simple business decision. You will make more money putting games on multiplatforms rather than an exclusive. Most of the time the only way to stay 100% exclusive is if you are the publisher or own the developer.

    @ Tiger of Wu,
First, HHGS is not my site. I am one of Hiphopgamer's writers. You made it clear that you undertsood that at the end of your comment, but I simply chose to clarify this point even more.

Second, calling everything you've ever read in the Hiphopgamershow website "total balls" is an inaccurate generalization that only displays ignorance. We have a staff of great writers that write interesting articles. Our quality varies with the writers and is not always on the same level. However, not a single gaming website out there maintains a consistent level of quality because that depends on the writers, and writers vary in talent.

I'd like to think that I deliver something different to the website. If you feel that my article deserves to be included in your "total balls" comment, that's fine. However, rumors, predictions, and news are what gamers want, and that is exactly what they are getting from our website.

Third, if you don't think that you got carried away, that means that you meant every word. If that's the way you communicate when you disagree, then I guess my 12 year-old assumption was not far-fetched. When I wrote that by the way, it was not directed personally to you. It's just that you can't really know the age of the person you are replying to. However, it is quite clear that you are not a 12 year-old kid, but with your aggression and emotional need to insult the person that is trying to have a mature conversation, you certainly communicate like one.

Lastly, when you reset your emotional hardware, I would like to invite you to check out my other articles on the HHGS website. You never know, you might actually enjoy them.

    God Bless You

    @ Tiger of Wu

I did not read your reply. From the fact that your comment was reported and then removed, I can only imagine what your reply was. It is quite unfortunate and disappointing that you do not possess the ability to have a healthy, mature, and clean conversation. Regardless, I wish you all the best.

    God Bless You
