People argue that there really isn’t anything special about motion controls right now. Going back to the comparison to the shift to 3D games, console 3D games were also not particularly impressive at first. Much of their appeal was simply the novelty of being in 3D. Many 3D games were barren, the geometry rough and blocky, draw distances were poor, textures muddy, etc. It took a while before 3D really dug in and began impressing us with what could be done.
