lwelyk of The Gaming Dungeon look at the games in the Oracle sub-series of The Legend of Zelda. Part 1 goes over the history and general concepts of the games.

Before being dissolved, Capcom’s Flagship Studios made some very good games using Nintendo properties. The most famous of which would be The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. They ran on the same basic engine, but each game had its own gimmick. Seasons allowed you to manipulate the seasons and Ages used time travel. I’m going to do something different with Retro Acquired for the next couple of weeks, a series of articles about the Oracle games. We’re going to start with a brief overview of the games, their history, and how they relate to each other.

These were my first Zelda games...

    ...just wish I hadn't sold them. D:

Haha OoA took my Zelda virginity. It was an amazing game to get into the series. Unfortunately, my save file got corrupted at the second last dungeon. Needless to say, the loss of all that hard work turned me off of LoZ for a while.

Ah, so I'm not the only one.

Now that I look back on it, it probably would've been better on my 8 year old brain if I bought Seasons instead.

These weren't my first (that'd be A Link to the Past), but I sure did play through both versions a good few times. I even have an Oracle of Ages/Seasons poster in my room. xD
