The showcase shown earlier today for Project Natal may be quite impressive and deemed as an attack on the Wii. But is it really? A blogger's opinion is that everything Microsoft showed today was against the PS3, not the Wii. You can't help but think that everything showed off was more of a direct rip of the EyeToy...and the Live Vision Camera.
Additionally, the demographic of 360 players is more in line with PS3 players, not those of the Wii. PS3 audiences are different than Wii audiences. Natal may not be big with them. And what about buttons? Natal/EyeToy were just motion. The Wii Remote has buttons and the Nunchuk. How is Natal going to handle object manipulation like guns?
And on a personal note, I fail to see Milo's relevance to Natal. The recognition that was seen was admirable, but that's wholly in part due to the software, not Natal.
In any case, those anticipating Natal must be extremely wary.
Disingenuous because the video they hacked together showed Natal doing things that are either impractical, like voice recognition of proper names, or impossible, like scanning the parts of a skateboard that are covered up.
Cliched because the video strayed into the Jetsons type of hyperbole where suddenly out of nowhere futuristic technology becomes commonplace. I am impressed that someone actually made that clip of the girl trying on a dress. I wouldn’t have been able to stop laughing long enough to take any part in it.
And finally nonsensical because they showcased the new Tony Hawk game which needs an expensive skateboard controller to play, but then implied that it would be obsolete in a year by showing off how a similar game could work using Natal. Really, do they even talk to each other at Microsoft?

Other than that, a solid argument. As someone who is going to be following this "Project Natal" with strong interests, I appreciate your views on the technology. Lets hope Neoseeker/Gamegrep is subject to more views and analysis on what we will experience with this new era of entertainment.
Hey, sleepy weasel, explain THIS: http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1902208,00.html
Burnout was playable on Natal. AND IT WASN'T SHOWN OFF. Behind doors? Why? If it was as dreamy as that Time article made it out to be, why wasn't it shown? Why did Microsoft stick with this: http://i44.tinypic.com/2ylljrs.gif
Thanks muchly.
Forget Milo, try a dating sim.
I can handle object manipulation by you actually pretending to hold a gun and pulling the trigger, it tracks your movement in 3D SPACE, Not 2d like a normal camera.
Aka it has 2 cameras so it sees you from an angle so it can see your side, and so it can see if you pretended to pull a trigger, unlike it would be able to on a normal camera.
When Nintendo unveiled the Wii at E3 2006, it was not only playable to everyone (the long line is proof that it was there), it had a variety of software for it. It had Nintendo’s flagship games from Mario to Zelda. It had racing games such as Excite Truck. For a launch, it was a pretty good selection of games.
Lmao are you *bleep*? Your comparing the support for a camera only shown to devs a few months ago to a whole new console?
Man I expected for some solid reasons because I thought there must be some catch(will probs be price in the end) but I was disappointed, all your article consists of is
"YEAH BUTZ WHY THEY DO THIS, NINTY DID THIS THEY SHUDF HAV DONE IT TH WAIZE LUKS NINTY STILL BEST CUZ THEY SOMIT I DUNO LOL!"
