Gaming Target looks back at the first 25 years of Tetris including it's beginnings in Soviet Russia, how the series has evolved, how it has moved into the wider consciousness of the world and where it's going.

"Alexey Pajitnov was just 29 years old when he was working for the Soviet Academy of Sciences in 1984. In that year, on June 6, he completed development on the first edition of Tetris. Yes, the puzzle game that has invaded our dreams and is built using nothing more than seven unique shapes made up of four blocks (officially called tetrads or tetriminos) turns 25 years old today."

Hard to believe it's been so long. Tetris is my favorite game of all time, actually play it daily when travelling (with my cell phone).

I have it on my ipod :3

Tetris is awesome, besides the fact that it never gives me the blocks I need when I need em >.

Tetris is a great game. The main concept is simple, but it's tons of fun. There are hundreds of variations of it.
