Dr. John B. Williston, an avid gamer, compared Left 4 Dead to Killing Floor, a zombie-themed underdog that has gotten a lot of bad press. According to him, Killing Floor is the superior zombie mash, which leads him to believe "game reviewers are the zombies, marching to the tune of the Valve virus."

So what am I missing? Are game reviewers all a bunch of Valve fanboys? If not, how do we explain the over-the-top praise for L4D in contrast to the lukewarm reception for KF? How is it reasonable to ignore the show-stopping networking bugs with L4D but complain about minor networking glitches with KF? How is it reasonable to ignore the lack of story in L4D but fault KF for it? How can L4D be fresh and new and KF be derivative when the latter both pre-dates and clearly inspires the former?

Seems to me like this guy just has a problem with Valve and comparing these two games was the only outlet he could think of to voice that.

Seriously "I'm not going to slight Valve.... but here we go for a few paragraphs."

Killing Floor is fun, but L4D is faster paced. Most of the critters in Killing Floor are slow as hell. It has a larger variety of zombies, even a Boomer, allows up to 12 player co-op, buying and selling weapons and armor, and even includes perks, but L4D is fast paced frantic kill everything you see

L4D judging by what I have seen is a better game with it being a faster paced shooter game.
