As the details come out about Valve's reasons behind releasing Left 4 Dead 2 so quickly, it becomes more and more clear that the L4D2 Boycott Group are simply wrong in their position against the game. Cinemablend provides insight.

So listen to me, angry Valve "fans": drop the righteous anger act. If you choose to pay for Left 4 Dead 2, you will be getting a full game, and if you only got 6 hours out of the first game you clearly missed the point.

(golf claps) I'm still kind of in awe that people are complaining about a sequel to a game they obviously liked. It just goes to prove 3 things: 1) some people are idiots, 2) some people will bitch about anything, and 3) the people who fall into the overlapping portion of the Ven Diagram of the first two points I stated are annoying as hell.

Dude, its opinion, they can't 'be wrong'. At least that's how I see it.

Guy in the article seemed to come off as a bit of a jerk to me. I can understand they're pissed about a game coming out less than a year after the original with very little new content when the Valve have a history of supporting their games. What's more I don't see how its annoying anyone, you haven't talked, sent messages or been contacted or really affected in any way.

I see the angry people's point. I haven't played L4D, but the game looks closely similar, sure there may be a massive AI update, but it honestly seems like nothing that couldn't of been fixed with DLC the size of GTA4's.

It actually seemed like they used the models for TF2 in some of the characters in the trailer.

All their games run off their source engine so they all look similar.

Well the mechanic and the scout do look similar. But big deal about the graphics. I don't see why people would argue with it...it's the gameplay that makes the L4D game, not the graphics. I wasn't expecting something ala the style of Crytek, were these fans hoping for that or something? Sigh.

I was thinking more of the big black guy and Heavy Guy. My point being, the updates from the source engine doesn't seem like anything incredibly new.

Honestly though, I haven't played Left 4 Dead, just seen gameplay videos. The game doesn't really seem too terribly different. That's the perspective I see it from.

Eh, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, is it? Sequels usually keep up with the core of the gameplay that made the series what it is. There's a few noticeable changes for me...but yeah, for a beta stage and little videos, I can see how it'd look too similar. They did show off the fire-ignited ammo and charger well enough, though.

so if you dont like L4D2 than shut up and just play L4D. if tons of ppl keep on playing the first game, Valve will continue to support it. no need to get bitchy about it. yes it hasnt been long since the first game came out but im sure there are plenty of better things to boycott than this.
