Oh that Jim Sterling (of Destructoid) does it again with an amusing list. This time with reasons why Prototype is better than inFamous. I think by the time you get to the last reason, you'll find that the list shouldn't be taken *too* seriously.

Two games have recently been released that bear several striking similarities. Both of these games are open-world sandbox titles featuring superpowered antiheroes who begin to realize a host of awesome abilities with which to distribute justice and/or malice as they see fit. While they share a lot of features, the two games are certainly distinguishable, taking the superhero model in different directions.

However, that doesn't mean we're not going to compare and fight about them anyway, just because we can.

Contrasting the two games, it is very obvious that Prototype is better than inFAMOUS, and anybody who disagrees is a despicable moron who doesn't know anything about videogames and should probably just die. Read on to feel justified in agreeing with me, or to be shamed by just how incorrect and rubbish at life you truly are.

Five stars. Seriously, I had a good laugh from that one.

inFamous is okay, but I still haven't played Prototype.

    Awesome article xD

Whilst most points are comical some are actually valid points

The only problem I've found with Prototype is the controls. Other than that, I like it much better than inFamous. Not that I don't like inFamous, I'm just having more fun with Prototype. But his points, while comical, are somewhat true. I was always bitching "why on earth can they shoot through fences but not me?!"

Proof, if proof be needed, that Prototype is better than inFAMOUS. InFAMOUS doesn't even have a comic (that I've been bothered to read), let alone one with Vietnamese cooch glass rapetraps.
I don't think anything else needed to be said.

That was the worst article ever written

Clearly you didn't realize it was satire.

Why is that always the response though? Being a satire doesn't make it automatically funny or well written. I'm not saying it wasn't, but why does every single person always have to find a satire funny, or else they're an idiot/fanboy?

Precisely. What proof do you have that he didn't know it was satire? Perhaps he just didn't like the vulgarity of having swear-words in every sentence? What is to say he had to find it funny?

I'm surprise they didn't mention anything about the trashcans. Trashcans so sturdy even they can stop a train...

    Excellent Article! Awesome read.
And both games are so fantastic. Anyone whos played both and can acknowledge the strengths that each game has can relate to the satirical nature of this article.

Though the article was suppose to be a joke...a lot of those points make sense...I still prefer inFamous, but w/e.

But it's not like Prototype itself doesn't have its own share of problems. You could probably do a reverse of this article and still have a decent article.

I'm sure someone will, and probably should. This is just one of those fanboy rants, why does someone have to show hate for one game to prove they love playing another? I personally haven't played inFamous, but I'd love to, it looks fun as hell (apart from the chainlink, hehe) and I'm loving Prototype at the moment. It reminds me of the whole GTA IV Vs Saints Row 2 thing

It's not one of those fanboy rants, it's comedy. It's a subversive mockery of those fanboy rights. It's satire

Wow it actually made laugh... alot. With numbers 7-10 being my favorites with number 9 taking the cake. "The Head of Sucker punch is a racist: Probably" It was just so unexpected as he had so many reasons for his first 8 then 9 just has that one word answer.

That was humorous enough, and was more or less true to boot.

Well, from what I heard anyhow XD

I'm going to get both eventually, so either way I win.

Though understanding the nature of the internet and the people using it, details like that tend to be overlooked. As I'm sure you can attest to seeing.

The post that was directed at (Curt Connors' post) was a perfect example of things being overlooked so of course I have seen that. So I corrected him. Then here we are.

      What was your point?
  • 2
    Red 9 Jun 15, 09
Lol I wasn't referring to that. I just meant that people tend to take things the wrong way due to the obvious, albeit unnecessary, competitive nature of the gaming industry.

Yeah, I guess that seemed a little random...

I love this post. While I didn't care too much for Prototype all around and is kinda sort of enjoying inFamous at the moment, I like his points and agree with them, especially his last one.

I want more news like this. Great job Jim
