I'd love to say that this article changed my mind. But it didn't. Just alot of assumptions and hopes that it will be an advantage to gaming. Which, let's face it, we're all hoping to be pleasantly surprised at the idea. But if he's right about the amount of people who have complained about it, chances are, there's a good reason for it. The fact that this idea is coming from the one guy in Nintendo who thought that Wii Music was the perfect game because it had no goals, no scoring system and required little talent doesn't help put people's hearts at ease.

When you also consider that that guy is also the father of modern gaming, you tend to give him a little creative leeway, or at least I do.

Honestly, the only people that complain about this features are those of us who have never used a walkthrough or cheat section in our entire gaming life. If you've done that, then I salute you and give you my full support in complaining about a feature you'll never use and isn't targeted at you anyway.

This feature is absolutely against the spirit of gaming, and quite frankly Nintendo could care less about 'expanding their audience' and are more-so looking to expand their profits. Here's an idea Nintendo: why don't you expand in the direction of the actual gamers who made you who you are? You know, the ones who endured the ignorant condescendence from the "non-gamers" and "mainstream" that you are catering to today? You remember them, don't you?

Gamers deal with really difficult stages in the form of FAQs, or even cheats if it comes to it. But I guess it's too hardcore of a task for a 'non-gamer' to do a bit of research on GameFAQs, isn't it? God forbid you actually practice or expand your knowledge of the game before giving it another go.

If casuals and non-gamers want to partake in gaming, that's fine and dandy. I want to share my hobby with everyone who's interested. But there's a pretty big difference between sharing my hobby and having it considerably altered so that these people can line Nintendo's pockets whilst falsely claiming to be gamers. And by "gamers," I mean the people who don't give up on a game the first time they reach a point that they find difficult. I'm sorry, but if you can't even bear the concept of trying harder in a game, then this hobby isn't for you.
