In this feature article from All Age Gaming, we look at how the major issue that has been a thorn in Microsoft's side, the red rings of death error on the Xbox 360 may cause an earlier than expected release of the new Xbox.

The problem became so wide spread that Microsoft pledged millions of dollars towards the problem by giving all Xbox 360 console owners a 3 year warranty.

I thought the reason why the RROD was so widespread on the 360 was because MS rushed it out too soon. Rushing out the next one is the worst thing they could do imo.

Exactly what I was thinking. I would prefer that Microsoft take the extra couple years of developments to work out as many of the little kinks in their system before release.

Slow and steady wins the console race.

You say slow and steady wins, yet the 360 came out a year before PS3, had the RROD and is STILL in the lead in sales.

So maybe slow and steady doesn't always win

They're fairly close in numbers now even though the 360 came out a year earlier. It's pointless to speculate which console will win the "race" now since they both have years left.

It may have the lead in sales but at what cost? I dont know how many consoles they had to replace but im sure it was a hell of a lot more than any other console, not to mention the damage done to their reputation.
