Much like in Japan where Capcom Japan was providing introductions to Japanese newssites about each of the characters in the Eighting-developed fighting game Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, Capcom USA takes its turn.

Chris Kramer on his Capcom Unity blog posted the first of these introductions, leading off with the game's iconic duo, Ryu from Street Fighter (Capcom), and Ken Washio the Eagle from Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (Tatsunoko).

If you have been watching anime in the 80s, the Ken the Eagle should be familiar, especially if you have seen G-Force or Battle of the Planets. The original Japanese Gatchaman released on Region 1 domestic DVD a few years back. The leader of this five man squad, Ken is the quick, charismatic risktaker that became one of the more notable Japanese animation icons. A couple of his moves at his disposal is the use of his trusty Birdrang, and one of his more devastating special moves is the Kagaku Ninpou Hinotori, a blazing fire-dash move after Ken launches the enemy into the air.

Fans of gaming should recognize the other character, as it is none other than Street Fighter's own Ryu. One of Capcom's posterchilds alongside Mega Man, he needs no introduction. His iconic Hadoken and Shoryuken are back, and his supers include the Shinku Hadoken and Shin Shoryuken.

Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars has been the hot internet buzz since we announced that the game is actually coming to North America. Unlike Marvel VS Capcom 2, however, the game features some rather unusual (perhaps, obscure) characters from both companies -- I mean, Batsu, really? In order to bring you up to speed on this great fighting game, we've decided to shine a light on the entire line-up over the next few months. We're pleased to present Episode 1: Dragon Versus Eagle, with a look at two of the biggest fighters in the game. This feature is looooong, but is packed with radtastic Capcom art, some choice video clips and lots and lots of info. Stay tuned to Unity in the coming weeks for more!

If they're really going to profile the roster over at Unity like that, we're gonna see a lot more of these features! Here's hoping we'll get the scoop on the new characters exclusive to the localization, sooner rather than later!

For a second I thought it said Ryu and Ken, as in "Ken" Ken. But regardless, the game really seems amazing. MvC2 on my 360 and TvC on my Wii...I'm ready Capcom.

Yeah, glad to see this one hitting the States, looks amazing. It has one of my favorite versions of MegaMan on it, the one from Legends (epic game, imo).
