Hollywood has seen it's fair share of movie remakes and re-envisionings in the last few years, and it now looks like games will be doing the same. Many classic games are being revived or remade, for better or for worse. Here is a handful of such games...
Remakes are cheap, easy, nostalgic and give younger gamers a chance to play a classic they missed due to being in the womb. After major gaming conglomerates (mostly Capcom) realized how much money they could make more and more have been popping up these days.
Within the next year gamers will see a good number of remakes; check out a handful that we can’t wait to get our grubby little paws on.

Old formulas can be reused to achieve the same successes if done right.
Just like how Gen 5 Mustangs look like and operate along the lines of Gen 1 mustangs.
I do think some experiences can't be recreated though, and can only be experienced with the original consoles.
But this is always for the money, usually not for the sake of our experience.
