A retrospective view on some of gaming's most interesting characters from throughout gaming history from the days of the Super Nintendo to modern PC masterpieces.

"Most top ten video game character lists are pretty typical. You have Mario, Master Chief, Link, Sonic, Megaman, Solid Snake, etc. People love these characters either because they’re attractive to play as, or because they’re simply part of long running franchises or nostalgic throwbacks that are difficult to criticize...my list of great characters takes a step away from the norm."

    Mario, Sonic, Link, Master Chief, Nathan Drake, Tommy Vercetti, Niko Bellic, Jak and Daxter.

    There's a lot more on my list but these guys have made gaming a worthwhile adventure for me.

    Mario, Link, Zelda, Luigi... I have a myriad of favorite characters. But Link and Zelda really do bring back good memories.

    Haha, it's awesome to see The Boss and Weighted Companion Cube on there.

    I think The Boss is possibly my favorite game character of all time.

    Yeah, gotta agree. Not only it was painful when you were forced to finish her off, but since then she became the prime example of self-sacrifice & patriotism in videogames. Boy, I simply closed my eyes when Snake had to deal the killing blow.

    Mute characters included? Ok, would you kindly add in Jack Ryan then? He doesn't say much...but the Plasmids do all the talking for him.
