Binge Gamer's James Walker takes a look at both the Xbox 360 and Xbox, and lists eight reasons why the original Xbox is better than the Xbox 360, even though the 360 is technically superior in every conceivable aspect.

To me the Xbox signifies the end of an era in video games, as it was the last of the true gaming systems. Yes, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are both designed with gaming in mind, but you could make a reasonable, logical argument that both platforms are multimedia devices that just happen to also play games.

Funny man and i somewhat agree. Not that the Xbox 360 can't muster up a somewhat epic counter argument to why it is better in every regard.

"How many other video game consoles can say that they could potentially have a body count attached to them?"

    My laugh of the day.

I don't know about a body count, but I'm pretty sure that the Wii is taking the lead in property damage.

So many broken television sets from flying Wiimotes ...

Yeah good point. Does that make the Wii the manliest system? Or just the deadliest?

Deadly doesn't always mean manly, just look at Superboy-Prime, as strong/deadly as Superman, most whiniest bitch in DC history.

Very well written editorial. Nice points, too. I forgot how awesome the Xbox was. And, yes, my hard drive never did have less than "50000+ Blocks Available" either!

I defy anybody to post a screenshot of their Xbox with the hard drive at 49,999 or lower.

I don't think there's a console out there with it.

I haven't replaced the HD on my soft-mod, but I will take a screenshot and send it to you (GTA: SA takes up a lot of space, lol)

    Inline Release

Each Xbox controller cord has an inline release. This is a safety feature designed to reduce the chance of the Xbox console
falling when the cord is pulled. If the Xbox console falls and hits someone, especially a small child, it could cause serious injury. To reduce the risk of such injuries or of damage to the Xbox console, it is important to properly use the Xbox controllers and the inline release.
Never realized that was the reason the controller cords are made into two different pieces... I actually lost the smaller piece to a wired controller, so I've always hated the fact that they make them like that.

Xbox wasn't Immortal, mine died on my cousin when I gave it to him after owning for about 3 years.

So, yeah. The Xbox is so much better than the 360 that I sold my 360 while my Xbox's DVD drive was dead. Sure, the 360 has the cool extra's, but with XBMC, my Xbox does the same damn thing, without forcing me to re-rip my CD's. That really sucked when I tried to get music on my 360 (I wasted about 30 CD-R's on that endeavor). Until someone completely hacks the 360, I'm sticking with the "Beast"!

I miss my xbox, it wasn't immortal as well. One day lighting came from the sky, the whole block went out of power for 5 minutes, then when I turned on my xbox....she....she wouldn't wake up!

    R.I.P. MRS.BOX, R.I.P. She lived a full 5 years. *goes to mourn*

    Great article by the way.
